4yo and 3yo here, both still very asleep by the looks of it. I'm sitting in bed enjoying the peace before the chaos.

Merry Christmas everyone!

Mine were all up at 5.30 (9, 7 and 2). They've opened their stockings and had a special Xmas breakfast of chocolate waffles and are all now fast asleep again!

Hadalifeonce · 25/12/2022 08:21

Been up since 6ish. Made mince pies, all lunch prep is done, fire set ready to light, just about to open some fizz and listen to carol's.
(And a load of washing done🥴). No sign of any movement from anyone yet!

poorbuthappy · 25/12/2022 08:22

1 door opened and dog let in. Door closed. 🤣

I've been up since 7, but that's my usual on a weekend.
DC 14 & 15 have set alarms which have been going off since 8 but still no sign of them.
I'm going to have another coffee and enjoy the peace.

oddwellingtonboots · 25/12/2022 08:29

DP is up! And making coffee! I think we can get started soon, yeyyyyy!

7Worfs · 25/12/2022 08:38

My 3yo and 4mo both slept until 6.30am this morning - this has never happened before, one usually wakes up the other much earlier.
It’s a Christmas miracle! 🎄

Presents open, pancakes eaten, 3yo is playing with the new (loud) toys upstairs, while baby is napping in my arms. Couldn’t ask for more - no one is crying and I am sitting down.

Soccermumamir · 25/12/2022 08:39

Yeah, but mine never get up till about 9am lol
I have a 16 and a 9 year old. Even OH is still sleeping 😴
I got up at 8, which was lovely, and enjoying a coffee before the mayhem starts 😊☕️

Thriwit · 25/12/2022 08:46

I am still the only one up! DC are 9 & 12, haven’t heard a peep from their rooms yet. Heard DH’s alarm go off, but guessing he realised the house is strangely quiet and dark and thought sod it, and went back to sleep. The 9yo will go cuddle him awake when she gets up anyway.
So I’m just sat downstairs with the cat & a cuppa, texting my mum. She also wants them to get up so they can open presents then go round to hers!

RandomMess · 25/12/2022 08:47

Only one up here too!

All adults now but even when little never woke up early!

Highlyflavouredgravy · 25/12/2022 08:50

Mine have just woken up snd opened their stockings on our bed. One is clamouring to go downstairs and open presents. They are 19 and 22.😄😄😄😄

Whiskers4 · 25/12/2022 08:54

I got up and fed cats around 7.30am. Can't believe my 21 year old has just got up, I'm normally having to nag her to get up and open presents before collecting my DM

WimbyAce · 25/12/2022 08:59

Mine are still in bed. I can hear the small but the oldest was awake gone 1am so not surprised she is still sleeping.

NotToBeOrToBe · 25/12/2022 09:01

Ive been awake since 6.30am. Woke up to a text from DS (an adult) saying he'd set his alarm for 9.30am. Not long to go now.

Not once in all these years have my children ever woken me up. Bloody useless.

cuteasaduck · 25/12/2022 09:14

My DH and I are up and dressed, cats fed and chores done. Now just waiting on DC 24 and 20 to appear, we could be waiting for quite a while.....Smile

katmarie · 25/12/2022 09:16

Well we were all up and downstairs by 6.45 in the end. Kids are having a bit of chill out time watching some Xmas TV before we head over to my parents for the rest of the day. Loving all your sleepy older kids though, I look forward to that eventually!

Yep 17 and 23 and the tradition is they sit on our bed and open their stockings but it's getting late and I want to take the dog out 😫

doyouwanticewiththat · 25/12/2022 09:25

Mine are 22&18 ...nothing happening here ..no one storing at all ! Older DD has covid so Christmas will be a little different ....

SongforWhoever · 25/12/2022 09:26

I'm amazed at the Mums on here who are awake before their kids. That never happened to me until they were teens.

Sparklingbrook · 25/12/2022 09:28

Nothing happening here. DH and I about to cook the traditional Christmas morning bacon muffins.
DSs might appear if they get a whiff of that maybe. 😂

Perhaps we should start a book as to what time our twenty somethings will appear 😂We’re due at my Mum’s at 2pm so hopefully before that.

TeachesOfPeaches · 25/12/2022 09:33

My 7 year old is still asleep next to me

listsandbudgets · 25/12/2022 06:41

Yes, puppy woke me as usual at 5.45am. Feeling very excited but no sign yet of DS (10) our Ukrainian guest (14) or DD (17)

Pillowcases all filled and waiting outside their room

Out of interest… how long have your Ukrainian guests been with you?

listsandbudgets · 13/01/2023 16:06

@Ursuala Since mid April. Grandmother, mother and 14 year old boy. We anticipate they'll stay fir at least a whole year.
