Heading out for the annual Xmas shop later so am open to suggestions 😁

Mine are:

Cheeseboard (I buy cheddar and occasional brie during the year, but only splash out on the selection with blue cheeses at Xmas)

Red onion chutney (to go with above cheese and leftover sandwiches)

Posh cracker selection

Cream

Croissants

Chocolate chip brioche

The usual boxes of Celebrations and Roses and crisps and Xmas cake

This year we cannot get enough panettone. Previous years we'd always been overwhelmed with the stuff, then last year we didn't buy any and we weren't given any. We were bereft! All the shops sold out, online prices were outrageous. This year I've bought 4. Two fruit and 2 chocolate. There are only 2 of us, and one couple coming to dinner.

A fridge drawer full of cheese. I normally have to ration myself but not at Christmas.

How do you make creamy sauces during the year if you don't buy cream except for Xmas?

Eg chicken pie or pasta bakes etc.

Also surprised at only buying croissants at Xmas.

luxury mince pies
nice fancy cheeses quite happy with cheddar rest of the year
celebrations chocolates
stollen

RagzRebooted · 21/12/2022 21:10

Mini stollen bites (from Lidl)
All the cheeses (we bought 9 today Blush) and several (okay, 4) chutneys. I'd rather eat cheese and biscuits than most premade snacky foods.
Smoked salmon (for Christmas breakfast with scrambled eggs and toasted English muffins)
Fancy biscuits in a box

SunshineAndFizz · 21/12/2022 21:15
