I’ve just been scrolling through Facebook and saw my husband has commented on a post to enter a raffle. His “lucky numbers” are mine and the kids birthdays 🥰

Just a little warning if the heart after what has been quite a shitty day.

Going to a grandchild’s sports day and being told by a teacher - don’t give up, we’re right behind you.

Tisfortired · 07/12/2022 18:33

Had a really shit day work and appointments wise.

But sharing a veggie lasagna and a flake yoghurt for afters with DS cheered me up!

Igotthegoose · 07/12/2022 18:36

That’s super cute bless him.

my DD has been frightening ill and had chronic pain since summer. It’s been such a hard time for us she has really gone through what no child should, physically and mentally. The past two weeks she’s been progressing loads and starting to get better, eating more and looks healthier. Yesterday she was off school with a cold and a temp, but she woke up today still snotty after lots of rest and was excited to go to school…

She had her tea when she got home, and I heard banging in the living room. She had scoffed her food and was dancing and jumping around the room, snot and arms flying around everywhere - usually in this case I would tell her to stop jumping around after just eating but I could not help but bless the universe for her health and her energy she looked so happy and childlike again. A moment to hold on to for sure!

great thread op.

i was just finishing work when my mum rang me to say she was cooking a beef roast and to go round after i’d picked the kids up. i’ve had a lovely dinner, followed by homemade chocolate cake, and now i’m having a little lie down on the sofa whilst my dad’s took the kids out for a walk to look at people’s christmas lights.

My DS(7) is trying on possible outfits for the school disco tomorrow - he just looked at himself in the mirror and said with great satisfaction "Oh I look AWESOME."

(He looks like he got dressed in the dark btw)

A friend of mine sent me a silly Christmas card with pictures of Jay Rayner and Grace Dent on it. 🤣

AliasGrape · 07/12/2022 18:47

We’ve been having a rubbishy few weeks with one thing and another.

Got the tree up today as had a half day. Which brightened things up in itself, but then when 2 yo DD came home and saw it she was beside herself with excitement. She said ‘oh crismas tee I like you too much’ and tried to hug it, then hugged me. Made me feel lit up like a Christmas tree myself.

devildeepbluesea · 07/12/2022 18:48

DD has been absolutely desperate to have her ears pierced for ages. I’d decided a few weeks ago that her aunt (DSis) could take her to have them done today but have been keeping it secret.
They went into town and DSis broke the good news just before I got there. She’s floating somewhere near the ceiling in delight at the moment.

Dcat loves DH much more than me. Last night, though, she gave me a lovely bit of fuss and purring before going outside for her midnight patrol.

Amusingly today, she's back on form. I was working on our bed, and she had curled up after DH came in to say hi. As soon as Dcat caught me looking back at her, she covered her tail with her eyes. 😂DH said it means she trusts me, but it was just so obvious. Sodding cat. I love her all the same.

Walked to work this morning, freezing cold but the sky was blue and sun was shining. A man walking towards me equally bundled up against the cold gave me a lovely, genuinely warm smile and I did the same. Nothing remotely flirty about it, just two strangers acknowledging each other. Sounds daft now I've written it down but it really cheered me up.

i loved your post OP

I have a six week old baby and am really struggling with my mental and physical health. Baby was in a clingy mood all day today and I got nothing done. Keeping up with house jobs makes me feel in control of things and I was quite upset I hadn’t even managed to phone the hospital to chase up an appointment. DH came home from work, took one look at me and announced he was taking baby to see grandma for an hour or two and that I should have a bath or a lie down.

dawnfromgavinandstacey · 07/12/2022 19:10

Panicking about an early morning meeting tomorrow that I hadn't had time to do what I should have to prepare. Called my boss and he was like no, you've done it, its with me to do my bit. How the fuck is forgotten I don't know but I'm glad it's done.

Gufo · 07/12/2022 19:10

After a long slog and several rejections, I got a job offer today!

Not daft at all. Sometimes my walk to shops has been reluctantly done then made better by cheery acknowledgement from another human.

Sat on the sofa with my 19 year old DS this afternoon, under a blanket as very cold, just chatting about this and that and shooting the breeze. For well over an hour.

Made my usual work trip which usually involves a 4 1/2 hour train journey then a mediocre hotel

accept today I managed to get a Seat Frog upgrade to first class on the train and I get to the hotel to find it’s really lovely and I’ve had an upgrade

I’m here for two days and tonight I have the evening to myself.

happy days.

My husband just bought me a small box of my favourite sweets!

newtb · 07/12/2022 19:31

Getting a lovely email from a friend in Tokyo saying she was a bit worried not to have heard from me. Got my arse in gear, wrapped and posted her present. Cost 47€ for 4 little cups and 6 spoons. Ouch! Back to calendars next year, I think. The postage was 50% more than the gift.

overmydeadbody · 07/12/2022 19:31

A managed to nip out of work in my lunch break and have a swim in the gloriously calm sea, and the sun was shining! (It was bloody freezing though). Totally reset me and felt amazing!!😊

Alphabet1spaghetti2 · 07/12/2022 19:32

Audiologist visit means I can hear again. Cats purrs are louder than I thought!

2020firsttimemum · 07/12/2022 19:37

Picking my little boy up (2) from nursery
The way he runs out of those doors with his arms outstretched, a smile on his face shouting 'mummy' and then gives me the biggest hug 🥺🥺

SabbatWheel · 07/12/2022 19:38

A pupil who was very disengaged and grumpy at the start of the lesson accomplished something that was amazing (for her) by the end, with careful support and plenty of ‘carrot’ (chart points).
Later in the lesson she even offered me the empty chair next to her to sit with her while she showed me what she was doing. Lovely moment.

HellsBells87 · 07/12/2022 19:39

A friend of mine has discovered she's pregnant after a long time of wanting a baby ( on my birthday).
