I’ve just been scrolling through Facebook and saw my husband has commented on a post to enter a raffle. His “lucky numbers” are mine and the kids birthdays 🥰

Just a little warning if the heart after what has been quite a shitty day.

Got to see DD in the nativity.

Doesn't sound much, but her nursery didn't do it, Yr R was Covid, Yr 1 she couldn't take part. Her behaviour was unmanageable at school, now dx autism and ADHD. She was on a very reduced timetable, and she was so upset she couldn't take part.
This year both she and school have put so much effort in, and she has a part, and a line! No-one was sure if she'd cope with the full thing, so school let just me and Dad in to see the dress rehearsal today, just in case.
So whatever happens tomorrow/Fri for the actual show, she's done it and I've seen my baby be a mouse in a nativity!

Beautiful! Well done to your daughter!

First nativity for our year 2 daughter today as well 🥰

My puppy’s wide eyed amazement at our frozen lawn first thing this morning. I was so grumpy having to wrap up and go out in the freezing cold, but he made cheered me right up, taking exaggerated steps over the crispy, white grass and sniffing each of his paws as he went. He was born in this year’s heat wave, so this is all new to him. Can’t wait to see him when/if it snows. Grin

Next today was the simple act of dropping ds (20 with ASD and anxiety issues) off at his new job, knowing that he is doing well, becoming more and more independent and actually managing to get a taxi home every on his own without any support from myself or dh. There have been times we thought it would never happen and it definitely made up for standing in the freezing cold scraping the car windows in order to get him there.

Oh - and coming home from picking dh up at the station just now and pulling on the drive to see the lights on the Christmas tree through the window, making our home look really welcoming (even though it’s actually blooming freezing inside at the moment).

Feeling a bit below par today but showered and dressed. Two year old granddaughter bursts through the front door shouting, “Wake up Nana!” and then sings Twinkle Twinkle Little Star at the top of her voice. She always brightens my day.

Such a lovely thread.

I interviewed for and was offered a promotion today. Feedback was really lovely.

And my DD 5 who really struggles with her spelling tests each week, usually scoring zero, got 3 out of 5 today and was over the moon with herself 😍

My colleague told me she is pregnant after a long wait… happy news

I have a second one now. My cousin's fiancée gave birth earlier today to a gorgeous little boy. One of his middle names honours my late uncle who passed away a few years ago. 🥰

Just wanted to say thanks for this thread. Had a rotten day yesterday with a poorly baby, who seemed like she was on the mend but has then been up most of the night. I'm shattered, aching and feeling a bit miserable, but reading these cheered me up a bit. So thanks, everyone.

I helped one of my colleagues with a dispute she had at work. She's been treated really badly and I found out yesterday that she won at the tribunal. It's been so stressful for her and she absolutely deserved to win.

Earlier this week I had an appointment with my GP
My GP works in quite a poor area.
I took some flowers for my doctor and took them to the waiting room. Sitting in waiting area was a woman who had had a hard life ..you could tell from her clothes and missing teeth. When she saw the flowers her face lit and she smiled and something shone from her.. she was amazing and made my day.
I am going to take some flowers back to the GP’s and ask them to pass them onto her. She gave me her name.
