Does everyone prefer winged sanitary towels?

Because I’m getting really frustrated by how many of my usual shops don’t sell the wingless ones. I now have to do a special 24 mile round trip to stock up as my local shops and the medium-sized supermarket that I commute past only offers various types of the winged variety. Is this the same everywhere?

I like wings.

can you order online?

KeiraMetz · 06/12/2022 15:57

I hate the winged ones, they always go crinkly and end up unsticking

zighead · 06/12/2022 15:58

I hate wings too and I agree that it's trickier to buy them without. I actually prefer the more old school style of sanitary towel that aren't so thin and plasticky.

MintyFreshOne · 06/12/2022 16:00

Hate wings but usually not too much choice in sanpro where I’m at tho …

TastesLikeFlavourlessFizz · 06/12/2022 16:02

I don’t use them but I would (and previously did) want wings. Without, I found that they bunched up.

musicalfrog · 06/12/2022 16:03

Maybe a good time to go reusable?

ShirleyPhallus · 06/12/2022 16:04

Have they got slimline maternity pads? They’re usually wingless, generous in size and very absorbent

RoseLemon · 06/12/2022 16:05

I hate wings. If it's all I can buy then I just cut them off.

I did try, but ended up getting the worst thrush of my life, and kept finding that they flipped out of position

Asda here sell their own wingless ones. Strange your supermarket doesn't sell branded wingless ones as Always definitely do them.
What about ordering online from Amazon or Boots/Superdrug?

Theskyisfallingdown · 06/12/2022 16:12

Reusable fleecy ones? Or a subscription order for them online every X weeks? There must be a better way than a 24 mile drive.

Sayithowitisbaby · 06/12/2022 16:17

I absolutely detest winged sanitary towels. I used to buy the Always Night time pads with no wings but found it difficult to find them and ended up switching to Natracare Night time pads. They're natural and honesty its like sitting on a cloud so comfortable and no plastic. I order mine online from Dolphin Fitness.

Decafflatteplease · 06/12/2022 16:17

I use reusable (but with wings)

What about period pants?

Cuppasoupmonster · 06/12/2022 16:18

Hate wings. They just unstick and end up rubbing against your legs. And the blood soaks into the winged parts and leaks over 🤮 always wingless for me!

Dittosaw · 06/12/2022 16:23

Love’em. Accidentally stick the wings to your pubes and you get a free waxing! Two for the price of one!

Neuronamechange · 06/12/2022 16:24

Hate wings. Leak over and scratch my legs.

LovedFedAndNoonesDead · 06/12/2022 16:29

Hate wings. Have found that Tena Lady Mini pads (needed thanks to twins in my late 40’s and an unexpected period while away from home) work as a very good alternative to wingless pads

SallySailor · 06/12/2022 16:33

Hate wings. And hate Always. I prefer old-fashioned cottony feel ones. The thin ones they flog nowadays feel like a scrunched up plastic bag. Sigh

lookersnoopy · 06/12/2022 16:36

M&S period pants, haven't looked back

Iguanainanigloo · 06/12/2022 16:40

Period pants are soooo good, it's like having a sanitary towel "built in". I got the Primark ones and they've been amazing

Toddlerteaplease · 06/12/2022 16:43

I like wings.

That is excruciatingly painful!

Peoplewatcheswithcoffee · 06/12/2022 16:44

Another vote for period pants. Absolute game changer and much more comfortable.

Notanotherone6 · 06/12/2022 16:45

Wings are better. Wingless bunch up in the middle and are guaranteed to make you leak onto the side of your knickers.

dudsville · 06/12/2022 16:45

I've been known to sit on front of the evening telly with packs of winged pads and scissors.
