A Kremlin insider said that Putin- was helped to a sofa by bodyguards as his personal doctors rushed to assist him.
Putin is also alleged to have soiled himself during the fall.

What propaganda?

I hadn’t see this op. He sounds increasingly frail. Hopefully his demise will see the end to the war.

daretodenim · 03/12/2022 04:17

I heard this too but I don't like it. Honestly, so what if he did. There are hundreds of thousands of elderly people who fall over and soil themselves and feel ashamed. Worse if they're then stick for hours waiting for an ambulance. I know of it happening to younger people with traumatic injuries too.

There's one hundred million things that Putin can be shamed for. An involuntary bodily reaction that may or may not have happened is ridiculously minor and not worth mentioning.

Booklover3 · 03/12/2022 04:18

Hmm if he’s as unwell as the article states then I’m not surprised to be honest

Stunningscreamer · 03/12/2022 04:26

It's surely different if someone is a world leader whose behaviour was erratic and dangerous even before they were ill gets ill than someone who lives down the street or is famous for being on Coronation Street; in the latter cases I completely think it's none of my business, in the former it has political implications.

They could be either positive, in which case we might have a more stable political leader soon, or negative, in which case he might be increasingly erratic or there could soon be a dangerous power vacuum in Russia. These things are significant and worthy of discussion, not so much the details of the originating event or in order to mock him.

MagicFox · 03/12/2022 04:28

I don't believe this for one second

Kennykenkencat · 03/12/2022 04:33

I’m wondering who pushed him

FootfallFootball · 03/12/2022 04:37

Is that a reliable news source?

Telegram, supposedly.

I agree it's classic propaganda. How do you make a big leader seem small? Put him in a metaphorical nappy, say he's shat himself, make him infantile.

It could also be true and he's very ill indeed now. The fall is the important part, really. That and the bodyguard(s) singing.

Huh?

determinedtomakethiswork · 03/12/2022 05:38

I don't believe it's true. If someone told the media that story, someone who was there at the time, they would be murdered.

MrsDoyle351 · 03/12/2022 05:58

Also rumour mill has said he has thyroid cancer or something.

Outfor150 · 03/12/2022 06:02

This is an old story from yesterday. There’s no way of knowing whether it’s true or not. And what difference does it make?

Itsabitnotcold · 03/12/2022 06:18

I don't know if I like this. I know the war is horrible and he's made awful things happen to so many people but it seems a bit icky to be talking about someone soiling themselves after a fall. It's not a reflection on his character and its actually more likely to garner sympathy for him anyway.

BeBraveLittlePenguin · 03/12/2022 06:26

Poo-tin Grin

lljkk · 03/12/2022 06:50

if Putin is very & terminally ill, why haven't the oligarchs toppled him & replaced him with a different hard man or puppet? Terminally ill people are too tired to be effective despots or protect the oligarchs' interests.

Doesn't have whiff of credibility.

Putin's always been a rampant fidgeter. He's always had this weird gait thing (how he walks) where he manages his right hand as thought he's ready to reach for a gun (prompting comments he was KGB trained). He was accused of gasping for breath when he was merely trying to be emotional (soldiers' mums). He shakes his hands and breathes funny when being emotional (always has done). He has, if you watch enough videos (go back 20 years to do this), a pretty good "common touch" with people. By showing emotion in these ways.

btw, there's a clip somewhere of Putin singing Blueberry Hill in English. Worth watching because funny. His English accent is awful.

JT69 · 03/12/2022 06:55

Whether or not he did , he still has his finger on the button and is intent on savaging Ukraine. Let’s not get distracted.

Ordinarily I'd agree with your sentiments, but not with Putin. Putin's power is built on being a strong, tough Alpha-male; and being portrayed as a weak and fragile old
man undermines this badly which is good. Putin would rather be hated than pitied/sympathised with for something like this.

Besides, is anyone such a devoted empath that they would actually feel sympathy for him for this (if true). Call me a bitch but I can't muster up the tiniest scintilla of sympathy.

FuckeryOmbudsman · 03/12/2022 06:57

I don't believe this, and think it is propaganda.

MiniTheMinx · 03/12/2022 07:01

Well that'll make Pootin really pissed off!

GyozaGuiting · 03/12/2022 07:04

I sincerely hope the man is terminally ill, the death, rape, torture, destruction of European economy, energy crisis, food shortages… all at his hands… but I’m with the others that unfortunately I think he’s probably ok and this is people clutching at straws. Really hope I’m wrong though.

Snnowflake · 03/12/2022 07:05

It's front page of the Sun and the Mirror - so must be true (joke) but if it means he eventually steps down the sooner the better.

CustardUnicorn · 03/12/2022 07:22

He's obviously ill. I wouldn't assume that if he does it steps down, the whole Ukraine war will be over though. His successor might be even worse. Russia supports the war. That doesn't go away.

Ozgirl75 · 03/12/2022 07:27

I hate what he’s doing and everything about this war, but to mock a man for involuntarily soiling himself if he’s sick is a bit low. I read this and felt sorry for other sick people who this might happen to, how they would be thinking, oh, so my sickness is something to for me to feel stupid about? Not great.

MiniTheMinx · 03/12/2022 07:28

Terminally ill or not he won't step down. I suspect we will see increasing instability and irrational decisions that will hugely impact the course of this war. It can only be a negative really.
