A Kremlin insider said that Putin- was helped to a sofa by bodyguards as his personal doctors rushed to assist him.
Putin is also alleged to have soiled himself during the fall.

I support Putin and Russia as I have Russian relatives. It is extremely unlikely that this happened and is just propaganda.

Do you indeed young Bobby.
Enjoying the war from the comfortable sidelines are you, with no plan to go & fight for your 'brave' leader?

Damnautocorrect · 03/12/2022 09:36

The issues with the Russian economy are the bigger story from that report. Not putin shitting himself.

He's a heavy drinker so this isn't surprising in the slightest.

This was my first reaction - that he'd overindulged on the vodka.

knittingaddict · 03/12/2022 09:42

MagicFox · 03/12/2022 04:28

I don't believe this for one second

I'm inclined to agree. It's designed to humiliate and embarrass and does feel like propaganda on the face of it.

Even if true, so what? There are plenty of people in Russia who are more pro this war than even Putin. If he died tomorrow it would probably solve nothing.

Don't feed the obvious troll.

Anyone seen "Death of Stalin" ?

it does bring that to mind.

I do believe he’s seriously ill, but I’m not sure on this one. It’s too Stalin-esque.

Try not to fret @dudsville - the OP who fell was checked out by the supersleuth MN mods, & hasn't invaded Ukraine, killed civilians, bombed hospitals & homes, or let mass rapists loose.

HTH

This.

LumpyandBumps · 03/12/2022 09:56

As much as I would like to see the back of Putin there are some potentially even more sinister men waiting for their opportunity.

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 03/12/2022 09:58

Who on earth would risk a Siberian labour camp at best, or being tortured and shot, for leaking such a thing?

Sundaetoffee · 03/12/2022 10:05

if it’s true I think it’s disgusting that anyone would find it funny. Whoever he is to laugh at someone potentially terminally ill is just horrible makes you no better than him. It shouldn’t be reported or laughed at if we want to judge him surely his abhorrent war crimes should be front page not mocking him for illness that’s just wrong

butterfliedtwo · 03/12/2022 10:05

MiniTheMinx · 03/12/2022 07:28

Terminally ill or not he won't step down. I suspect we will see increasing instability and irrational decisions that will hugely impact the course of this war. It can only be a negative really.

Agree, unfortunately.

PerfectlyPreservedQuagaarWarrior · 03/12/2022 10:05

It’s hitting the wrong target. Putin won’t care what the Sun says about a fake story.

He will. He's not going to be happy about this being all over the internet, whether it's bollocks or not.

We know this because of the way he's taken such care to portray himself as a strongman, in the physical sense of the term. All those topless photos hunting etc. That may also be the reason why he's gone so heavy on the Botox of late too. It's important to him to be regarded as fit, healthy and vital. And that becomes more of an issue as he ages. Also, dictators pretty much always resent having the piss taken out of them. They understand that humour is a potent weapon, which is why they're a pretty thin skinned bunch.

Obviously people can decide for themselves if they feel comfortable with it or not. That's a personal preference. But it's clear how he's going to feel about this, because of the threat it poses to the narrative he has tried so hard to create.

Croftboft · 03/12/2022 10:08

I believe he's quite ill, just from the physical appearance change recently. This story is clearly bs though esp considering that telegram channels previous bs leaks.

bellinisurge · 03/12/2022 10:09

Don't assume he would be replaced by someone soft and cuddly.

He looks different, doesn't he? And he'll know that. The over Botoxing didn't happen out of nowhere. So even if he isn't ill, and I wouldn't have the foggiest whether he is or not, it's going to hit home.

😂😂😂
Blimey. I'm clearly no better than a warmongering psychopath.
Good to know. I might start small though. Maybe an invasion of the Isle of Man.

Tell me @Sundaetoffee - does your astonishing reservoir of sanctimony compassion extend as far as Ukraine, as you seem to have forgotten its existence in your rush to wag your finger at all these naughty people laughing at a probably invented story about a tyrant?

typos · 03/12/2022 10:15

Power hungry sociopaths that begin to show terminal physical weakness in front of the worlds stage are very dangerous. He has nothing to lose.

The issues are separate to me. I’ve said he has committed abhorrent war crimes in my post - what he has done there is unforgiving and abhorrent .

But to mock another human who supposedly has cancer for falling and soiling themselves is also abhorrent

thewriteradmitsthat · 03/12/2022 10:21

How can committing war crimes and laughing at someone be equally abhorrent?

Think your moral compass needs a reset.

MagicFox · 03/12/2022 10:21

I think it's more that this is a matter of 'reading the room'. It may well be abhorrent for posters to mock another human being, but nobody wants to hear sympathy expressed for Putin in the current context so it's a consequence of that.

It really isn't if that human is Putin. I'd laugh at him for things that I'd feel huge compassion for anyone else they happened to.

Not equally abhorrent but both still abhorrent.

if Putin is very & terminally ill, why haven't the oligarchs toppled him & replaced him with a different hard man or puppet? Terminally ill people are too tired to be effective despots or protect the oligarchs' interests.

Doesn't have whiff of credibility.

Putin's always been a rampant fidgeter. He's always had this weird gait thing (how he walks) where he manages his right hand as thought he's ready to reach for a gun (prompting comments he was KGB trained). He was accused of gasping for breath when he was merely trying to be emotional (soldiers' mums). He shakes his hands and breathes funny when being emotional (always has done). He has, if you watch enough videos (go back 20 years to do this), a pretty good "common touch" with people. By showing emotion in these ways.

btw, there's a clip somewhere of Putin singing Blueberry Hill in English. Worth watching because funny. His English accent is awful.

Because his strength is their strength, the strength of Russia. We've seen this before. He will 'live' until they have a story that they consider expedient. We will have no idea when or how he actually dies.
