Films you've watched but have no idea what they're about

DH has got Con Air on. This is one of these films that's always on TV...technically I must have watched it about 20 times but I still couldn't tell you what it's about other than a load of aggressive blokes on a plane Confused

What films have you seen loads of times yet could not tell anyone the plot of?

Raiders of the Lost Ark

Most of them. Even when I think I've been attentive and watched it all the way through if I'm discussing it with someone after and they say 'oh I love the bit where....' I'm always like 'eh? Confused'

I instantly forget it all once it's finished - quite worrying really Hmm

All those cowboy films that were a 'B' feature in the 1950s

Bladerunner.

KnickerlessParsons · 29/11/2022 23:33

Most James Bond films -
The more recent ones at least.

Tirediam · 29/11/2022 23:33

Inception

Con Air is bloody brilliant!!

Honper · 29/11/2022 23:35

Inception.

Honestly haven't got the foggiest what's going on in that film.

There are other films that I can't understand why someone would bother making them but Inception I don't understand full stop. I've tried reading the plot as well and it sort of washes over me without me taking in the words.

Giggorata · 29/11/2022 23:45

DH was very keen on Bring Me the Head of Alfredo Garcia but I've never managed to see the whole film, always nod off.

Giggorata · 29/11/2022 23:46

Forgot to say, I love Con Air too!

TangledWebofMincemeatDeception · 29/11/2022 23:50

Con Air is a great film.

Honper · 29/11/2022 23:55

I agree that Con Air is fabulous. Nicholas Cage is such a loser!

LidlCinnamonBun · 29/11/2022 23:57

Mulholland Drive.

undercoverhero74 · 29/11/2022 23:58

Donny Darko, I have watched it a few times and can only tell you there is a giant rabbit in it 😂😂

Gronkle · 29/11/2022 23:59

Oceans 11, I just don't pay enough attention, I don't understand what happens, why is there two different vaults, how can they tin it if they're not really there?

Squirrelsnut · 30/11/2022 00:00

Quantum of Solace.
Adaptation (I liked it though).
Une femme est une femme.

They make a replica vault so they can switch the footage to the empty fake one while they rob the real one.

wandawaves · 30/11/2022 00:03

I've only seen this once but have NO IDEA what the storyline is... Everything Everywhere All at Once. I'd love to watch it again actually. The costumes and sets were amazing.

Allthegoodnamesarechosen · 30/11/2022 00:03

Are you really watching though? Or are you multi tasking ( on your phone?)

personally I find I understand plots a lot better if they have subtitles ( on tv obviously, haven’t been to the burger bar/ sweet rustling place for decades) because three quarters of the time I can’t make out what they are mumbling about. Also watch at home means you can rewind when DH says he missed that bit/ asks who the hero is/ wants to discuss the moral issues raised by the heroine’s dilemma ( okay, I made that bit up).

wandawaves · 30/11/2022 00:06

I also couldn't tell you the storyline of Star Wars, despite watching them so many times.

AutumnCrow · 30/11/2022 00:07

I had a flat mate who would say stuff all the way through every film, 'is that the same bloke that was on before? Who's that? Is that a new person now? Is that one Thelma or Louise?' Exhausting, especially in the cinema.

Redglitter · 30/11/2022 00:10

Lost In Translation. The most aptly titled film ever
