My choices would never be served in the same restaurant, and if they are it's probably not a good one

Tuna tartare or sashimi
A really amazing curry
Some kind of rich chocolate, coffee, hazelnut concoction , maybe with something crumbly/biscuity

LulusMiniEgg · 27/11/2022 22:19

If you like this sort of thing listen to the Off Menu podcast, celebs talk to James Acaster & Ed Gamble and describe their perfect meal
POPPADOMS or BREAD!
starter - maybe a mezze or tapas selection?
main - beef wellington (the one I ate the day I gave birth made by my sister)
desert - treacle tart with clotted cream (from a pub I went to in the Peak District
drink - mango chilli margarita from mowgli

MiniTheMinx · 27/11/2022 22:19

A really coarse pate
Fillet steak (blue)
Cheese and biscuits

PermanentTemporary · 27/11/2022 22:27

Olives and a glass of something very dry and white
Bouillabaisse with the second glass
A selection of tiny cheese tastes with a glass of Muscat

Followed by a long nap

MigsandTiggs · 27/11/2022 22:27

Oysters, Caribbean style with a lime and hot pepper sauce dressing

Grilled lobster with asparagus and a green leaf salad with Asian dressing

Banana flambé with orange ice cream

Some sort of baked goats cheese & sticky balsamic concoction for starter with rocket salad and crusty bread.

A simple linguine with cherry tomatoes, garlic, chilli and crab.

A massive slice of proper NY cheesecake with single cream

Rabidturnip · 27/11/2022 22:53

Pate and melba toast to start.

Roast beef, medium with roast potatoes, sprouts, spiced braised red cabbage, yorkshire puddings, cauliflower cheese, gravy and horseradish sauce

A trio of desserts; sticky toffee pudding, creme brulee and basque cheesecake.

countdowntonap · 27/11/2022 22:54

selection of fresh bread rolls

Salmon carpaccio with wasabi vinaigrette

Tuna tartare with chilli ginger, and a seaweed salad

Crema catalana

countdowntonap · 27/11/2022 22:55

@LulusMiniEgg I love treacle tart! Don’t suppose you can recall the name of the pub?

gogohmm · 27/11/2022 22:59

Not politically correct but... 5 courses
French onion soup
Foi gras with really good bread
Confit of duck cassoulet
Chocolate mousse
Cheese board

Basically a meal in a bistro in Provence.

I do make this menu occasionally though substituted for duck pate which pretty close second.

Also fond of sashimi especially tuna but it doesn't really go with the french food!

Dolleey · 27/11/2022 23:05

Ceviche

Vegetarian curry of some sort with rice - Thai or Sri Lankan, can’t decide

Dessert would be a fantastic creation from a Michelin-starred restaurant

Truffoiled · 27/11/2022 23:06

I love this question. My answer can vary a little, but right now:

Starter - a really deeply-flavoured, rough, rustic, livery wild boar pate served with thin white sourdough toast, quince paste and cold butter.

Main - Perfect seafood, including lobster and plenty of brown crab meat, folded through a tangle of soft, firm pappardelle dressed with butter and lemon juice. I'd crack some black pepper and drops of Tabasco over the top.

Pudding - A plate of thin slices of grilled pineapple, some soft, strong, sweet gingerbread, a little rubble of fabulously creamy Wensleydale and a glass of chilled Amaretto alongside.

NotToBeShaked · 27/11/2022 23:18

Tricolore with avocardo and thick balsamic

Fillet steak (rare) mash, green vegetables and a red wine jus.

Apple crumble and ice cream

Bottle of Melbec or Rioja.

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 27/11/2022 23:44

6 oysters
Carpaccio of beef, green salad
Crepes Suzettes
Ice cold bottle of Listel Gris
Cognac with pudding.

Now!

I'm going to try this for Christmas dessert but with grilled apple, if I can't find a ripe enough pineapple.

talkingmorenonsense · 28/11/2022 00:16

Prawn cocktail
Sirloin steak, chips, mushrooms, onion rings, salad
chocolate cheesecake with vanilla ice cream

Omg this selection but minus the fish crab in the pasta
but everything else exactly ( but zero zero fish or crab )

Yes, same. The flavours are so good for Christmas. I'm planning to try grilled Sharon fruit/persimmon too.

I'm so 70s.
Prawn cocktail with iceberg lettuce and a thin slice of wholemeal bread and butter on the side.
Roast beef with yorkshire pud, crispy roast potatoes, cabbage, cauliflower, horseradish sauce and lots of thick gravy.
Black forest gateau with lots of fat kirsch soaked cherries.

Blanketpolicy · 28/11/2022 00:50

Crispy duck pancakes

Surf n turf (fillet steak and lobster) with lashings of garlic butter, doorstep chips, well dressed chopped salad

A sharp and tangy lemon merigue pie and cream

DaisyChristina · 28/11/2022 01:15

Prawn cocktail
Cheese and mushroom omelette with saute potatoes, peas and sweetcorn
Chocolate fudge cake with cream

samstownsunset · 28/11/2022 09:15

That's actually quite funny @AzureOrchid as I don't actually eat fish or meat but use hearts of palm as mock crab alternative but I didn't think anyone would know what it was so just said crab!

I soak it in brine so you still get the salty element so you'd be fine with my menu!
