Nothing that goes together and I'm cheating by making the main a mini-buffet but:

Mediterranean meze board (horiatiki salata, pittes, dolmades, cheeses, olives...)

Sarawakian seafood selection of Black Pepper Mudcrab, Crispy Chilli Prawns and simple grilled white fish (served with steamed rice and stir fried ferns in belacan)

Raspberry pavlova

PinkPondQueen · 28/11/2022 19:41

This is making me so hungry!

Lobster Ravioli

Fillet steak with a blue cheese sauce, fat chips and Spinach Mornay

Eton Mess

PollyPeeves · 28/11/2022 19:47

pate with red onion chutney and crusty bread

fillet steak with red pesto, roast potatoes and lots of veg

passionfruit pavlova

As a pregnant woman who has lost all concept of lovely dinners and fine dining. Right now my dream menu would be.
Cheese on toast with tomatoes
Turkey dinosaurs, beans and Chips
8 Cadbury caramel chomps.

Whiskeypowers · 28/11/2022 19:57

Toasted walnut bread with chicken liver pate and carrot chutney, cornichons, picked red cabbage, celery and a good Stilton at room temp. Celery, rad dish, chicory and orange salad on the side in a tiny bowl with a sherry vinaigrette

corn fed chicken breast roasted on the bone with pommes Anna, puy lentils, pancetta and fondant carrot. Fresh baguette warm from the oven and salted Brittany butter

queen of puddings or bitter dark chocolate pot in a glass made with Cointreau and topped with roasted chopped pistachios. Served with wafer thin almond biscotti

if I started on the wine I’d have would be here all night

Scallops
Chicken Kiev and mash
cheesecake

newtb · 28/11/2022 20:02

gogohmm sounds like most of the menus where I live - apart from the soup, which would just be a veg one.

Pieceofpurplesky · 28/11/2022 20:03

Some sort of hot melted cheese with apples, carrots, grapes and walnuts

Seabass with garlic new potatoes, mange tout and French beans

Roasted pineapple with a boozy smoothie and ice cream

Grey23 · 28/11/2022 20:03

Pate, my mums spaghetti bolognase and my grannies trifle

Warmhandscoldheart · 28/11/2022 20:07

Lightly fried whitebait

Raspberry roulade 😋

ShakeYourFeathers · 28/11/2022 20:08

Scallops
Pork chop, mash & carrots , gravy apple sauce
My mums pavlova. Very important it's my mums. If that's not possible then like a chocolate mousse type thing.

ShakeYourFeathers · 28/11/2022 20:09

OhGingleBells · 28/11/2022 20:10

Baked honey-drizzled camembert on a bed of rocket with focaccia

Medium steak with Stilton sauce, potato dauphinoise, parmesan and garlic green beans

Tiramisu

2020firsttimemum · 28/11/2022 20:13

Can't have some of this right now as I'm pregnant but right now I'd have

Starter - Pan seared scallops with crispy pancetta, a lemon and garlic sauce / dressing and lambs lettuce

Main - duck breast with dauphinois potatoes, honey glazed carrots, tenderstem broccoli and a red wine jus

Dessert - a big slab of warm chocolate fudge cake with thick cream and fresh strawberries 🍓

Nancienoo · 28/11/2022 20:13

Crisp, Toby carvery and then cake and custard

Overthebow · 28/11/2022 20:14

Thick cut cured salmon
slow cooked ragu with homemade pasta
gooey chocolate brownie with fresh raspberries and raspberry sauce
can I add a fourth cheese board course?

KaleToChristmas · 28/11/2022 20:19

Ooh, love this thread.

Starter - several large scallops with pea puree
Main - seared salmon with spinach, broccoli and buttery mashed potatoes
Pudding - chocolate and raspberry torte

Glass of dry white wine

KaleToChristmas · 28/11/2022 20:20

Oh, wait - maybe lemon mousse for pudding.

This is an excellent dilemma to have.

Mummieslncorporated · 28/11/2022 20:24

Hmmm. Today I would choose

Caramalised onion and goats cheese tart

Seabass maeklong

Key lime pie

flippyfloppy · 28/11/2022 20:27

Love this thread! We are doing non traditional Christmas dinner this year so this topic has been debated here recently. Mine would be:

Tuna Tartare spicy!
Rare chateaubriand with a variety of sides , extra salty fries, grilled vegetables, prawns, Mac and cheese with red wine jus
Affogato
Cheese board

Yum!

babbi · 28/11/2022 20:34

Creamy garlic mushrooms on flat naan bread
Chicken Bhuna Curry
Chocolate and strawberry cheesecake

love this thread and would love if @flippyfloppy
would share some chateaubriand with me please 🙏😋

MostTacticalNameChange · 28/11/2022 20:47

I'm vegetarian and very bland - anything gourmet is wasted on me. I have tried Sad

Deep fried brie with cranberry or goat cheese salad.

Halloumi, red pepper and balsamic glaze ciabatta with skinny fries.

Lemon posset or chocolate torte.

Bottle of mid-range chardonnay.

Best meal I ever had was in a bog-standard chain style pub during a storm in Inverness during the 00s...it was just deep-fried perfection. Nothing has come close and I have been to some fancy places and travelled the world since.

OrangePomander · 28/11/2022 20:51

Champagne cocktail
Steak with Dauphinois potatoes and greens
Dark chocolate mousse

BCBird · 28/11/2022 21:12

Smoked mackerel pate, roast pork roast potatoes, mash, carrots, cabbage, peas stuffing and gravy. Pudding apple and sultana crumble with custard. All followed by a mouthful.of Gaviscon🙈
