I don't think there were cowboys at the birth of Christ, tbh

Rosio · 22/11/2022 18:48

Surely person dressed as cow would just be cow

Rosio · 22/11/2022 18:48

Maybe it means the person who looks after the cows

wishing3 · 22/11/2022 18:49

Would think cowboy, but surely cow makes more sense in nativity? Bizarre!

I agree unless it's some kind of cow version of Mr Tumnus?!
I think the latter, but thanks for the question OP it made me laugh!

Always4Brenner · 22/11/2022 18:50

I’d be thinking animal but check whatever you do to avoid any embarrassment.

When the girls were little they had a spaceman at the nativity. (A little boy who desperately wanted to be a spaceman so they eventually let him just so he could take part).

Smartiepants79 · 22/11/2022 18:51

Possibly a cow girl I’d think.
My Dd did a school Xmas show where they had a section with a stable hoe down!
Maybe it’s the same one!!

SirSamVimesCityWatch · 22/11/2022 18:52

I'm voting politically correct cowboy. Why s/he is at the birth of Christ is a bit of a puzzler though!

Please update once you know, OP!

Oh yes maybe! You're up to 4 possibilities:

  1. PC Cowboy
  2. Cow carer
  3. Human-cow hybrid/ Mr Tumnus (Hoping against hope it's this
  4. Cow
Choconut · 22/11/2022 18:53

As a third option I'd wonder if they meant cowherd.

Janek · 22/11/2022 18:53

Yeah, I don't think there were any pigs at the birth of Jesus, but we've definitely had pigs in our Nativity plays!

IglesiasPiggl · 22/11/2022 18:53

Ooh, I need to know what a cow person is! Half human half cow?

Choconut · 22/11/2022 18:54

Cow/human hybrid??? Please don't ask the teacher OP and just rightly or wrongly assume they must mean this option.

Trust me, primary school Christmas plays bear absolutely no resemblance to the events depicted in the bible!

Have to admit I'm now fully on board with the cow version of Mr Tumnus.

Itisbetter · 22/11/2022 18:55

Cowherd

RoseAndRose · 22/11/2022 18:57

Worth checking if they mean cow or cowherd

WheresMyDodo · 22/11/2022 18:57

Is it a centaur soet of thing that’s half cow half person or is the teacher vegan and thinks cows are people too? 🤣 Did they have cows OR cowboys 2000 years ago?

Ostryga · 22/11/2022 18:58

This was how it was worded which doesn’t add any clarity tbh. Surely a cowboy would be cowperson? I have no clue

My guess is that it is this:

Prickly Hay nativity musical

and so it will be cowboy/girl costume.

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 22/11/2022 19:01

I'm guessing it's this nativity, so I'm going for the PC cowboy (see under "choir" on the cast list).

Rowthe · 22/11/2022 19:03

I think cow carer. Like a shepherd but for cows.

PigLightingBastard · 22/11/2022 19:03

DS once was chosen to be a "nativity animal" for which I needed to send in green clothes. That was a fun few weeks as he hadn't a clue what he was supposed to be, even rehearsals didn't give him any ideas.

Oh goodness! What did he end up being? As primary nativities go I’m guessing it could be anything from snake to seahorse 😂
