What do you eat straight from the packet even if you shouldn't?

I mean things that are designed to be prepared in some way before consuming.

I've discovered hot chocolate spoons from Home Bargains that are quite nice stirred into hot milk but even better eaten as they are. They're so minty. It isn't a very cost efficient way of using them as you don't get that much chocolate but they're so good.

Also ramen. I have been known to eat some of the noodles dry.

Peanut butter straight from the jar, and stir into hot chocolate

BobcatDreams · 14/03/2023 11:39

Coriander leaves on a growing herb pot on the bus home, getting in the door with it all grazed down to the pot.

Waitingfortaco · 14/03/2023 12:16

Sliced chorizo

I am honestly flabbergasted! I don't think I've done a single one of these!

Not even breakfast cereal? Really? Try it now! Better than with milk, especially anything sweet like crunchy nut cornflakes.

PictureNotPerfect · 14/03/2023 12:45

Jelly cubes
nutella
uncooked dry spaghetti
oxo cubes

Cheeseandhoney · 14/03/2023 12:47

Some of this is literally insane. Raw sausage, bacon, steak, black pudding, mince,,im sure this is a wind up. 😱🤮

Lookingoutside · 14/03/2023 12:48

Cookie dough and cake frosting.

Raw mince. And yes I know it's highly risky but I can't resist it.

I prefer to think of it as steak tartare. Yum.

TheMarzipanDildo · 14/03/2023 13:17

Ravioli

Kilpitlees · 14/03/2023 13:39

Glacé cherries, can finish a whole tub in one sitting. Much better in their natural state then baked into anything. Yum.

Nope. No recently though with the sausages and bacon. And it's not 'literally insane.' It's people eating odd or weird things.

Hyacinth has spoken, people. Aren't you all ashamed of your feral habits? 😆

britneybitch23 · 14/03/2023 14:15

Eating raw shit is not just odd tho. I say seek help because you must be lacking in some nutrient to be so overcome by urges that you'd eat raw bacon or sausage. WTAF!!!!

Who said anything about being overcome by urges? I just fancied trying raw sausage and bacon, that's all. Like you would a different flavour of chocolate to the one you usually eat. It wasn't a regular part of my diet.

The point is, it’s not normal to see raw meat and want to eat it. It’s like saying I don’t normally eat dog shit but I saw a juicy one and fancie a taste.

Although not technically raw I also do awesome gravlax and love a bit of sashimi or carpaccio.

littlemissdizzy00 · 14/03/2023 14:47

Dry pasta here, love it!

You might make that jump, I certainly wouldn't. And as far as I'm concerned it's nothing like it. You crack on if the urge overtakes you, though.

Define 'normal.'

Daftasabroom · 14/03/2023 15:05

@Cheeseandhoney The point is, it’s not normal to see raw meat and want to eat it

Yes it is - lots of cultures routinely eat raw meat and fish.

Which culture eats raw sausage and mince right out the packet then?

AffIt · 14/03/2023 17:02

Yes to sweetcorn straight from the tin, jelly cubes from the packet, chocolate spread / peanut butter eaten with a spoon.

I used to eat cold baked beans (with a squidge of brown sauce) straight from the tin, but my OH's deep disgust has shamed me out of that habit now.

There's no real reason to decant chocolate spread to another vehicle, especially.

Greensleeves · 14/03/2023 17:08

Oooh, loads of these Grin am particularly heartened to see a few fellow secret Oxo cube munchers!

I also eat anchovies straight out of the tin, raw pasta, tomato puree, frozen sweetcorn/edamame beans and can eat a whole jar of capers quite happily. I am a massive salt freak and the only thing that even slightly restrains my salt intake is the fear of death. As a child I used to steal salt sachets from cafes and eat them secretly Blush

I wonder how many of us are ND?
