What do you eat straight from the packet even if you shouldn't?

I mean things that are designed to be prepared in some way before consuming.

I've discovered hot chocolate spoons from Home Bargains that are quite nice stirred into hot milk but even better eaten as they are. They're so minty. It isn't a very cost efficient way of using them as you don't get that much chocolate but they're so good.

Also ramen. I have been known to eat some of the noodles dry.

Some of these are crazy...raw pasta...seriously like I can only imagine that cutting up your gums as you chomp on it! And raw frozen chips...wtf....

FrightfullyFreezy · 19/11/2022 20:33

Jam
Jelly cubes
Curls of milk chocolate that you are supposed to melt in hot milk to make hot chocolate
Chocolate spread

My mum used to break off a corner of the oxo cubes to let us have a bit. My younger siblings once got up really early one morning as toddlers and young children, snuck into the kitchen and ate several oxo cubes and made themselves sick! Mum was not impressed!

Don't think it's recommended. According to my mum I live my life in constant danger of getting worms. Never have though (touch wood)

🤣🤣🤣

Ovaltine powder.
Mushy peas straight from the tin.

PotatoFacedWombat · 13/03/2023 12:38

When I was in the US, I raided a world supermarket for exotic snacks. They sold dried noodles in little packets like crisps! They were amazing.

Slices of gherkin although when I think of it how else would they be eaten? Can't think of a meal they'd go in. But I'm addicted.

Anything you would also use capers for. Sauces and salads particularly.

Se7ener · 13/03/2023 12:51

Crunchy nut cornflakes.
Straight out of the box, by the handful...

Raw sausage as a child. Nice and cold straight from the fridge.

Used to love raw bacon as a child. Gnawed on the occasional raw sausage, as well. Then biology lessons about tapeworms in raw pork scared the living daylights out of me.

Raw bacon here too, used to leave the white rind behind in the packet. Raw sausage too. It was glorious!

TheChosenTwo · 13/03/2023 22:35

Oh my god I once ate a raw sausage as a kid, never knew there were so many of us!
even now when making sausage rolls I usually eat a bit of the sausagemeat once I’ve made it up 😂
Also cookie dough but I know im not the only person who thinks it’s better raw than cooked.

Wafflehouse · 13/03/2023 22:39

🫣 I do so many of these. I don’t know whether to feel disgusted with myself or relieved I’m not alone.
