Tell me your favourite candle brands that don't cost a bomb!

I love flamingo candles, bath and body works and scavenging in tkmaxx for nice ones...

Not interested in diptyque type brands, no desire to spend £100 on a candle - but equally I don't want something cheap and tacky that barely smells of anything

Seeing as I'm trying to be a bit more hygge and stop hating winter so much, I figured I'd treat myself to a few new ones as I've started to permanently have one burning at my desk while WFH which is quite enjoyable

Does anyone have any recommendations?

One shelf of my stash so I can say I have tried a fair few! Always have a candle going somewhere or a wax melt

I love these, just bought one of her new Christmas fragrances, 15.00 for a candle.

I second Shearer Candles. I love the orange pomander and the cinnamon scents. They have a lovely selection of Christmas scents as well.

AlannaOfTrebond · 09/11/2022 17:48

The Crackling Candle Company are my favourite, especially the wood sage and sea salt one.

Gorgeous scents and they use soy wax so you don't get any of that paraffin background smell (or nasty black marks on the walls).

www.thebeardedcandlemakers.com Have amazingly evocative smells

allyouneedis · 09/11/2022 17:51

I love bath & body works, I have started buying a brand called Goose Creek and they smell lovely. I think I got the recent ones from candles direct.

Sweetpea1989 · 09/11/2022 17:51

Another vote for st eval, the smell fills my house!

Sparkletastic · 09/11/2022 17:52

Another vote for Shearer. Amber Noir is lovely as is their lemon scented candle. Available on Amazon.

Scentsationals wax melts as sold in Asda. I used to buy them in Walmart whenever I went to the US because they were by far the best. Ran out over Covid and then Asda got them in. 3 packs for £5, way better than Yankee candle.

Yes, B&BW by far the best but quite pricey. Sugared Lemon Zest my favourite.

I really like Wickhams Candle Company. The Spiced Orange in the Christmas section is one of my favourites.

Have to agree on the Asda wax melts, cheap and smell amazing especially cuddle up.

I only ever buy www.olapip.co.uk. Theyre amazing & it's a small business started just before lockdown

The range is fantastic & the smell lasts ages

This looks wonderful, might treat myself to a gift set and supporting a Scottish business is a bonus ☺️

I love the lemongrass and rosemary candle from Valentte, they've got 50% off all candles at the moment, I'm buying loads for Christmas presents.

These are lovely!

cosypeppermint · 09/11/2022 18:10

Anthropologie candles are surprisingly good and last for ages. I think most of their stuff is overpriced rubbish but love their candles.

The quiescent one at the front is one of my all time favourites.

Also Shearer Hogmanay and St Eval.

Redglitter · 09/11/2022 18:12

@Stickytoastandhoney you definitely should. Her stuff is amazing & the Autumn/winter range is gorgeous

PeloFondo · 09/11/2022 18:14

@Tulipvase it's lovely, I had been through 2 of them and had a tough time this year. My friend sent me a gift box from them and it had another in it!
Their laundry day Reed diffuser is lovely too

pandora206 · 09/11/2022 18:16

I like St Eval too, especially the Bay and Rosemary one though they are all lovely.

Slightly more expensive but very festive is the Skandinavisk Skog which is my favourite for Christmas.

LostMumofTwo · 09/11/2022 18:26

Anthropologie candle in the scent Volcano. Fills the house with the smell and start at around £14

WildFlowerBees · 09/11/2022 18:29

Laura fisher candles they are beautiful

TurquoiseDress · 09/11/2022 19:05

I love Yankee candles, they have proper smell that lasts unlike some other ones I've tried!

Got a large candle (538g) in our local Savers for ten quid but price usually much higher than this

Defo seem genuine not knock off ones!Grin
