I'll start. I'd do medicine and become a coroner

I'd go back in time and be a lighthouse keeper or book shop owner.

meateatingveggie · 26/10/2022 21:56

I could be a lighthouse keeper. The solitude appeals

An accountant. Like i wanted to be originally. Thanks mum for your unwanted and unasked for interference.

Bluevelvetsofa · 26/10/2022 21:57

I’d have a craft/book shop with a coffee corner.

Or a ballet dancer

MeghansBitch · 26/10/2022 21:59

Join the police

mistermagpie · 26/10/2022 21:59

I'd be a midwife.

Sewfrickinamazeballs · 26/10/2022 21:59

Art restorer

Friolero · 26/10/2022 22:00

I'd like to be a marine biologist.

MissyB1 · 26/10/2022 22:00

I trained as a nurse but wish I had been a child psychologist.

FayeGovan · 26/10/2022 22:00

Maybe a PA. I'm a good organiser.

Overthebow · 26/10/2022 22:01

I'd be a midwife or a teacher

cheeseisthebest · 26/10/2022 22:02

Work in the theatre. Or be a therapist.

DiscoveryofASingularWitch · 26/10/2022 22:02

Actuary - I left after 12 months on a grad scheme for law. I think I would have preferred my first choice in the long run.

NCtoadviseagain · 26/10/2022 22:02

Psychologist.

minipie · 26/10/2022 22:05

Architecture or product design.

Would really love to career shift into these areas but am too old for multiple years of retraining sadly

MrsCarson · 26/10/2022 22:05

Court reporter. That's what I wanted to be, or some sort of computer work. Ended up as a Nurse. lost my mind there

confusedlots · 26/10/2022 22:05

I actually would have the same career again. Didn't realise how much I enjoyed my job until I thought about your question! It's not an overly exciting career, but one that I'm obviously suited to!

autienotnaughty · 26/10/2022 22:07

Stand up comedian. I think I have the ability to do it but now I don't have the time or funds to invest in it.

bigblueyonder · 26/10/2022 22:07

Meteorologist or oceanographer...

meateatingveggie · 26/10/2022 22:08

I'm retired now, and look back on a career in the nhs with some pride, and yes I loved it in the early days.

Funny to think I can't change my mind now.

Photographer or travel writer for the National Geographic.

majorcamaiden · 26/10/2022 22:10

Something behind the scenes in film and tv, or event planning. I just never knew what my options were back in uni and what was available other than the regular 9-5 accountant, marketing, banking, doctor, lawyer etc jobs. I would do more. Research as to the type of job I wanted and look for specialist uni / training courses that would get me there.

Purplepepsi · 26/10/2022 22:10

Engineer.

meateatingveggie · 26/10/2022 22:12

@majorcamaiden that's a really good point. You just don't know what's out there when you're making decisions as a young person.
