Inspired by the Come From Away thread, thought it would be nice to have a thread about musicals in general.

Favourites? Least favourites?

Phantom of the Opera was my biggest disappointment. I had wanted to see it for absolutely years and when I finally did I left during the interval. Awful, awful show.

Love Phantom( seen it 5 times ) , les Mis , we will rock you , Return to the Forbidden Planet , Joseph and adore g&s .
Saw “ anything goes “ last year , first theatre trip post Covid restrictions . Wasn’t expecting much , thought it would be old fashioned. It was amazing - right up there as one of my best ever nights at the theatre.
Didn't enjoy Lion King , Cats , beauty and beast or Rent.

I loved Phantom it is so over the top however it is basically about a stalker !

My daughter & I really love 42nd Street. Glitzy, great songs, really slick production when we saw it pre-pandemic at the Theatre Royal.

Enjoyed Wicked, Hamilton; saw Chess, Phantom & Les Mis many moons ago and they were pretty good... can't wait to see Book of Mormon.

An American in Paris was one we didn't enjoy quite so much.

My favourite is Saturday Night Fever.

Least favourite was School of Rock - I was expecting lots of rock songs but it only has one or two - very disappointing.

Last night I saw Bat Out of Hell with my Ma and Sis. As others have said above, it was a bit confusing understanding what was going on and where to look with the filming in one place, dancing in another etc.

Yesterday I saw the Singin' in the Rain film on BBC2. Think I would like to see that on stage next.

Favourite is Hamilton. I've seen Six and Back to the Future, and The Lion King recently, they were okay. Nothing compares with Hamilton for me.
