Nurses shot on maternity ward

Mrsherdwick · 24/10/2022 15:04

Two nurses shot and killed on a maternity ward in Texas. Just doing their job. RIP ladies.
The murderer was a man beating up his partner who was in labour. 1st nurse went to help his labouring partner. 2nd nurse heard the shot and went to help.

spiderlight · 24/10/2022 15:22

YoSofi · 24/10/2022 15:24

That’s horrific, I don’t even know what to say.

CrapBucket · 24/10/2022 15:25

Oh God. That's awful.

itsgettingweird · 24/10/2022 15:25

That's just horrific.

Yet they'll argue against gun control. Sad

Redshoeblueshoe · 24/10/2022 15:29

Bloody hell, that's tragic

NigellaAwesome · 24/10/2022 15:40

Violence in maternity wards isn’t that uncommon.

I dealt with a horrific case in a professional capacity where the grandfather reached across his daughter who had had a Caesarian 3 hours earlier. Elbowed her in her wound to get at his estranged wife who was holding the newborn. He held his wife’s hair and punched her repeatedly like a boxing ball until she was unconscious. Meanwhile baby had fallen to the floor and blood everywhere from the ruptured caesarean wound. 😢

This was in a post-natal ward where there were 3 or 4 newly delivered women and their babies and partners also present.

Poor women. RIP

SirenSays · 24/10/2022 15:43

Our security staff spent quite a bit of time on maternity dealing with aggressive partners. The world is a scary place

MavisChunch29 · 24/10/2022 15:46

The gun nuts will say this can be solved by nurses being armed.

Stupid fuckers.

Why the hell should I give up my guns because of this evil man?

The reason I have guns is protection from people such as this man. Will people with evil intent surrender their guns?!

Shrewsbury247 · 24/10/2022 15:47

Oh my God!!! This is horrific 😢😢

grapehyacinthisactuallyblue · 24/10/2022 15:51

I guessed it must be Texas before I read OP. I really think people who are against gun control in those states have blood on their hands.

Underanothersky · 24/10/2022 15:52

Jesus christ, men are disgusting

TreacsPotNoodle · 24/10/2022 15:53

@BlodynGwyn

Because it's not just about "one man"

The statistics on shootings in America is shockingly high and until gun laws are changed it will never stop.

Can I ask Why you need a gun? If it's the classic answer of "to protect my family" Would you feel comfortable/ confident shooting an intruder? Do you think the likelihood of that happening is a reason to keep guns legal and allow these shootings to continue?

oakleaffy · 24/10/2022 15:53

Murica.

“We need our guns.
Arm All Nurses with semi automatic assault rifles.
The solution against guns is more guns.”

Awful.
Why should so many innocents die because maniacs want guns?

NAMALT

But often a deranged man with a gun obsession, as opposed to women who do this kind of thing.

LearnerCook · 24/10/2022 15:56

Beyond belief, isn't it.

Threadkillacilla · 24/10/2022 15:56

God that's shocking. Who takes a gun to a birth!?!

How strange that your username is Welsh for white flower, the symbol of peace. Your post is hugely insensitive on this thread. If you want to discuss gun control, why not start your own thread on that? I'm sure you'll get a lot of the kind of interaction you so desperately need.

Jazzandblues · 24/10/2022 16:01

This is shocking. Shows how heartless he is. Rip to the nurses. I hope there can be support for the woman and baby involved too.
