He seems to have gained massive popularity and no bad word said against him.

What’s the allure?

I personally don’t get it.. he’s definitely not my type.

I'm 57, I bloody love him ... "but in a good way"

See what I did there

He gives me the creeps.

Same. He gives me the Mumsnet "ick."

I some weirdo on the bus with a tote bag that said something about getting choked. I googled it and it was a Harry Styles lyric. Odd people.

musingsinmidlife · 21/10/2022 13:02

He got together with Olivia Wilde while she was in a long term relationship with her fiance and two kids. I know he wasn't the one in the relationship but we seem to usually hold women responsible when they sleep with married men, so I will put this on Harry too. Minor scandal, more scandalish but there is that.

fucketyfuckwit · 21/10/2022 13:05

He is delicious

Urgh sorry but I cannot STAND him!!

Going against the majority on here clearly, and this is only my opinion, but….!

Music is really not my taste I think it is awful and bland as is he, he tries way, way, way too hard to be or seem ‘edgy’ or different. Makes me cringe every time I see him!! Mick Jagger and David Bowie he is not nor will he ever be!! 😜

DinaofCloud9 · 21/10/2022 13:17

I don't get it either. He seems surly and petulant to me.

That is definitely not the case. He is very personable

BustyDisplay · 21/10/2022 13:20

He gives me the creeps too.

Mind you, I don’t do celebrity worship at all.

Glitterspy · 21/10/2022 13:21

I was thinking this just this morning!

I think it’s the American effect, Americans absolutely loving these totally unremarkable British people who aren’t massively popular here. Like Florence Pugh, I just don’t get what’s supposed to be so amazing about her.

Squishedstormtrooper · 21/10/2022 13:22

I never liked him until he started popping up on tiktok and now I think I love him. He is charismatic and seems really comfortable with who he is.

Although I’ve strayed too far on his TikTok’s into the conspiracy theory section where they are convinced he’s married to Louis from one direction and now I’m overly invested.

Soubriquet · 21/10/2022 13:23

Ah Florence is lovely. I mean I’m not a falling over my feet fan but I think she’s a really great actress

His recent song is good.

PalatineHill · 21/10/2022 13:33

Robbie Williams is awful and always has been.
I like Hazza. It’s good in these boring hyper masculine days to have flamboyant straight men.
He had an affair with someone sure but he wasn’t the married one..

Soubriquet · 21/10/2022 13:34

Oh god I remember when it was all about Robbie Williams.

I'm seeing Robbie on Thursday!

TootMootZoot · 21/10/2022 13:47

I never paid any interest to One Direction but I've recently noticed Harry Styles. I think he is extremely good looking and comes across as a very nice young man (ugh I feel a bit letchy admitting that at my age 😂) He seems funny too. I'm generally not into his type of music but his songs are catchy.

My husband could have got tickets to one of his concerts as he is a debenture holder at one of the venues where he played. Unfortunately it didn't cross his mind that I would have wanted to see him.

His clothes are a bit dumb but I think he just does it in a massively ironic way.

The trouble with wildly successful people is that eventually it often all goes to their head. I hope that doesn't happen with Harry Styles.

LetUsPonce · 21/10/2022 13:49

I'm not so keen on his music but do now quite like him. I went to one of his concerts recently (to accompany my daughter and her friend) and we were in the third row, so up close and personal so to speak. He was great: he started punctually, sang well and was very charming and funny on stage with no smut or bad language. He engaged with individual audience members a couple of times, but always only in a kind and humerous way. It was generally a very feel-good evening and it left me with a good impression of him.

He's huge here, his first solo tour in 2017 sold out immediately so they added more dates in bigger venues, I know as I went twice!

Rooberoobe · 21/10/2022 13:55

I say this as a huge fan and have been for years since early 1D days and I’m a lot older than him. He’s got that something but I think that’s the Harry Styles brand. I actually think Harry is a very different person to the one he showcases. He knows his market and he knows how to play it well. He’s mostly made good business decisions for his HS brand and sticks with them. He also doesn’t seem to change the team around him often which means either he’s a. Awful but pays very well or b. He treats those close to him well. I’d like to believe the latter.
The movie and scandal surrounding that seems to have caught the daily mail’s attention hence why we seem to hear so much more about him. I’m pretty sure on the day of the movie premier there were something like 8-10 articles on the side bar that related to him or his relationship.

That's how I see him. He comes across well.

I'd love to know how much he earns from each concert. He seems to put his all into each one.

Bobshhh · 21/10/2022 13:56

I have 0 attraction to him but Harry's House is an absolute banger of an album. The Coachella performance this year was a turning point for me.

FayeGovan · 21/10/2022 13:59

I think he just comes across as very likeable

TotallyTERF · 21/10/2022 14:06

His PR team are incredible... that's for sure!

MarshaMelrose · 21/10/2022 14:06

I'm a bit 🤔 about this. The OW seems to get a lot of stick on MN. Is it OK to be the OM then? Or just if you're Harry Styles?
