What’s with all the Harry Styles love lately?

He seems to have gained massive popularity and no bad word said against him.

What’s the allure?

I personally don’t get it.. he’s definitely not my type.

Suppose he has a different flavour of what set Robbie Williams apart.

Competent all round entertainer, photogenic, likeable, manages to be a bit more charming with a bit more to say than the rest of the boy band members.

I'd suggest it's a mix of good management encouraging him to take more risks, and him genuinely being quite switched on and interesting.

Robbie tapped into the britpop zeitgeist and Harry seems to have tapped into the current developments in identity politics etc.

HS also seems to avoid any trouble, rubbing people up the wrong way etc. Of course RW doing the opposite to some extent was part of his appeal (drugs, scrapping with the Gallaghers etc, being gobby) but as far as I'm aware- and I could be wrong- he never took it too far a la Justin Bieber or Chris Brown. So he still has mass-marketability.

I became a fan after I saw him touching that watermelon

His songs are good. We can play his album in the car with dds and no one is offended.

his new movie my policeman is out now, coming soon on amazon prime i think it is. beautiful movie and the director said he just about begged for the role he plays as he relates to the character so much (a closeted gay man with a cover-up straight relationship 👀)

He does seem to be an all rounder doesn’t it.

We love Harry in this house. Even my 81 year old mother liked his music. She’d ask Alexa to play his songs 🥹
I did wince at him wearing the green ensemble the other day. He looked like Willy Wonka in green.

The only thing I really saw him in, was right at the end of Elementals

DD (20) still wears the One Direction t shirt she got at a gig 10 years ago.

DM (80) said yesterday “I’m sure every generation says this but I don’t think music nowadays is as good as when I was young. I like Harry Styles though.” 😁😍

I'm a Harry Styles fan and didn't even know it until I realised the songs I'd been humming along to in shops etc came up on the radio along with his name.

Too much nostril

I don't get the adoration. I can't comment on his singing as I've never heard him, but all I read is that he has floppy hair. His clothes seem ordinary to me unless he's at an event or a photoshoot where he puts on a tutu or something. It just seems as try-hard as Gagas meat dress. He's not a great actor either if his,reviews are anything to go by. Wasn't he shagging the director who, now the films been released, he's split from?
But he's very popular so he must have something about him!

For a long time, I didn't get it either. Then I saw him perform live and OMG there is just something about him! He is so charismatic and wonderful to watch (but half my age).

For anyone in/near London, his cardigan, suit and Vogue dress are in the V&A.
The suit/dress are in an exhibition that's ending soon, but the cardigan is permanent.
I went last month, totally worth it.
You can even touch the dress, I mean you aren't supposed to but I did!

This sums up my feelings for Harry, his music is ok but one of the few men to make my ovaries spin.

I never paid him any attention until I saw a few random clips from his live shows, he seems so charismatic, I really like his sense of humour. And for someone who started so young, he's been pretty good at avoiding scandals. I'm still not really into his music though.
