RIP loved him as an actor

AlwaysLatte · 14/10/2022 18:00

I loved this guy, he made everything he was in extremely watchable. RIP.

Mojo777 · 14/10/2022 18:00

How very sad. I loved him in Harry Potter obviously, but he was absolutely fantastic as Fitz in Cracker ! Journey on fella!

Try BBC. It's front page breaking news

Thank you, nothing came up on Google.

Smilelesstalkmore · 14/10/2022 18:01

Oh no, that's awful news - he was brilliant.

feellikeanalien · 14/10/2022 18:02

So sad and quite shocking for some reason. Tutti Frutti was when I first became aware of him. A real loss. Loved Cracker and his role in Harry Potter.

I'd love to watch Tutti Frutti again but don't know if it would seem dated now, or if it's even possible to watch it. Lots of other good actors in it too.

Gilead · 14/10/2022 18:03

Came across him in Tutti Frutti many moons ago and adored him from then on. So sad.

DevaleraSpawnOfSatan · 14/10/2022 18:03

Cracker was his finest work.

StormzyinaTCup · 14/10/2022 18:03

Fantastic actor - it drew a gasp from all of us in this house, adults and DC. He was an actor well known and loved through the generations, which is quite something these days. RIP Robbie.

weebarra · 14/10/2022 18:03

I rewatched Tutti Frutti very recently but can't remember where I found it! It's dated a bit but still watchable.

buggeredmyleg · 14/10/2022 18:04

He was an amazing actor.

vinoandbrie · 14/10/2022 18:05

I loved him in Cracker, and his other acting roles.

I’m so sad he’s died, I have no one to talk to so I thought I’ll come on here, I bet there will be a thread of other Robbie Coltrane fans. Thanks for this thread, it’s so good to read others memories of his work and the pleasure his talent brought.

Ivalueloyaltyaboveallelse · 14/10/2022 18:05

He was amazing in National Treasure.

StormzyinaTCup · 14/10/2022 18:08

Also not forgetting his appearance as Dr Samuel Johnson in an episode of Blackadder III. So funny.

bettybadger · 14/10/2022 18:10

RIP Robbie - Spectacles, testicles, wallet & watch (may have to rewatch that in honour...)

darkhorse2016 · 14/10/2022 18:11

MarieIVanArkleStinks · 14/10/2022 17:57

To me, he will always be 'Comic Strip'.

He's one of the breed whose death does give pause, and is affecting. Left me feeling very sad to read this.

The walk across the causeway to the lighthouse in The Supergrass? Oh yes.

FionnulaTheCooler · 14/10/2022 18:15

Sad to hear this. It makes his words in the Harry Potter reunion special even more poignant, he said he won't be here to see future generations fall in love with the films, but Hagrid always will be. RIP.
