Human remains found on Saddleworth Moor

Human remains, believed to be part of a child’s skull have been found on Saddleworth Moor. Please god let this be Keith Bennett. That poor child can hopefully finally be laid to rest in eternal peace with his mother.

his poor mother so wanted to find him and never had the peace of mind at the end of her life. The sick games Brady played were unforgiveable.

I prayed for his Mum a lot when she was still with us, and was heartbroken for her when the police decided to stop searching for little Keith. I know the family carried on. I’ve still thought of both her and Keith and prayed for them. I don’t live far from Saddleworth moor and there’s still an awareness of it all around here. I prayed last night it was little Keith, then felt bad for doing so. I always think of him with his glasses broken, poor little soul

The guy describes a smell in detail which he says is the smell of death. I have no idea what the earth would or would not smell like after 58 years, but I think it is a bit tasteless to put stuff like that in the public domain when you believe you are talking about someone's relative.

Also some people might find it distressing to read.

Your article linked from The Telegraph and all other articles I've read (Sky. BBC) clearly states that they don't know if it was human remains. Imagine how much hurt you spread by jumping to conclusions and posting it for others to see.

It's such a cruel thing to do. He didn't give a thought to the family. The man obviously wanted some moments of fame and maybe to write a book about it.

Nope. According to GMP nothing has been found & that has also been confirmed by a Bennett family member.
The whole thing started with someone saying that a fragment of jaw was found then it has spiralled, like Chinese whispers, to part of a skull then the full skull of a 12 year old.
Any newspapers that have run the story without 1st properly confirming the facts are bang out of order.

What the Bennett family have been going through & have gone through since Kevin went missing is horrendous. The news outlets should be ashamed & so should the author of the 1st article that started it all😡

What are you talking about? I wrote that when it’s become apparent that the authorities do not have the jaw bone originally thought to have been found!! At the start of this thread, along with others, I believed it and was hoping that this was poor Keith.

Yes OP is correct, it was originally stated that a jawbone belong to a child of around 12 was found.

grrrdarling Once again, please look at the time and date that I originally posted. News outlets (including the bbc) were originally reporting that human remains had been found. Also, the little boys name is Keith, not Kevin.

The author is on twitter just posting general inane stuff as if the tweet he posted never happened.

And although the tweet has gone, all the mentions are still there, and there’s a couple of people on there accusing him of doing this to sell his book.

I think this has backfired on him spectacularly.
