Human remains, believed to be part of a child’s skull have been found on Saddleworth Moor. Please god let this be Keith Bennett. That poor child can hopefully finally be laid to rest in eternal peace with his mother.

The author is a disgusting self serving human being as I think we have all ascertained.

He removed the laughing emojis from his disgraceful social media posts, but they were still distasteful and disrespectful to Keith's family.

I had my say, even though I don't usually comment much on SM. I'm so pleased to see it's all been taken down now.

Twitter post is the same as previously?

LunchBoxPolice · 30/09/2022 21:41

I commented on his post about the smiley faces and he blocked me 🤨

RainbowZebraWarrior · 30/09/2022 21:49

Just to reiterate, no identification has been made and no good comes from speculation.

The original informant of this story is a known fabriactor of the truth.

Alan Bennett has asked for privacy in this matter. 57 years have gone by, and many false claims have been made.

The person who alerted this story to the press has now had their social media accounts suspended. And rightly so.

I, personally think this thread needs to be deleted and will be reporting it.

To all those who have posted in good faith, I hope Keith is also found and reunited with his mother.

For now, this is a screenshot of the authors deleted post / account.

I'm on the author's Twitter account right now, all looks normal?

RainbowZebraWarrior · 30/09/2022 22:05

His Instagram has definitely gone.

Perhaps Insta is slightly quicker at getting rid of stuff than the cesspit that is Twitter.

GiantCheeseMonster · 30/09/2022 22:06

I’m born and bred on those moors, grew up walking them and still live here now - I walk out of my back gate and I’m on the moor. It’s a privilege as it’s truly the most beautiful countryside but the moor is also huge, dangerous and incredibly bleak. I always, always think of Keith whenever I walk my dog on the moor. It feels very close to home for other reasons: my Mum is the same age as Keith, Lesley and the others and lived in Ashton - her Mum stopped her going to Brownies in the 60s as there were stories about children going missing near the market and Mum used to walk that way home. It doesn’t matter that they’re “just bones” - the thought of a child being up on that moor on their own is unbearable. You only have to put yourself in poor Winnie’s shoes for a second to see that. I hope and pray that this is Keith and the family can properly lay him to rest.

rainbow I created the thread and in light of recent developments I will be asking mumsnet to delete it. If this man has fabricated or exaggerated the truth for publicity that is utterly reprehensible.

I have just checked rainbow and his Instagram account is operating normally. The story hasn’t been removed.

Hope you get this before the thread goes.

I totally understand that you created the thread in the hope that Keith would be found and eventually laid to rest.

I know you did so in good faith, and I initially followed in the same vein.

I hope that Keith is eventually found and his family eventually have closure.

Badger1970 · 30/09/2022 22:13

I live near Gloucester and the recent West investigation was heinous. How on earth that man persuaded the Police to dig and find a piece of plastic beggars belief. There were crowds of media there, and it was ghoulish and voyeuristic. And the poor family of Mary Bastholm were dragged through the media yet again .......

Why? We are posting the same sentiment as you; it's a news story but you're ok to say he should be found but not us? That makes no sense.

It is possible that because I called the author out, that he may have blocked me, and that is why the account looks like it's been pulled.

Could explain things.

bellac11 · 30/09/2022 22:17

Its a breaking news story why would the thread be deleted?

And the police were contacted on Thursday morning, they would know by now if the remains were not human or couldnt possibly be a child.

It will take time for proper analysis to take place but its not difficult to identify a human skull, if thats what it is.

Namechangedforthisonetoday · 30/09/2022 22:18

If he had blocked you I think the page says ‘no posts’ or that could have changed. The BBC are still reporting the story. I think there is truth in this, although I stand by the fact that he has gone about it all very much in the wrong way. The smiling emojis, the posts that teeter on the edge of bragging, those things have made him come across as very self serving.

Ok. For full disclosure, this was my Instagram public message to him.

I've obviously been personally blocked.

Either way, I don't think this thread is helpful to the family.

I agree. This thread was started in good faith but there are concerns about a lot of things now.

Namechangedforthisonetoday · 30/09/2022 22:27

I think that message is perfectly reasonable tbh rainbow. Unfortunately it does appear that he is making it about himself and the publicity he can obtain by finding (potentially) Keith’s body. I sincerely hope Keith has been found, but I dread to think how this man will attempt to profit from him.

Sorry to ask but to save scrolling through the whole thread, who is the journalist please?

EmmaH2022 · 30/09/2022 22:45

Cross posting everywhere, found it

looks like an individual I wouldn't want to know.

MayThe4th · 30/09/2022 22:49

I am currently being called all sorts on twitter for challenging him over his tweet.

Workinghardeveryday · 30/09/2022 22:50

So awful, poor Winnie x

MayThe4th · 30/09/2022 22:50

Not by him I might add, but by his sycophants who think I am a disgusting human being who should be removed.

That tweet was shocking.

Did I read that the landscape shifts around though. And it said 'several hundred yards' from where the original bodies were found so in any direction, particularly if thye've moved over time is like a needle in a haystack

The fact that landscape shifts is one of the things making me sceptical about this. The author bangs on about the place in question backing up his theory that Brady laid the graves in the form of a swastika, but after nearly 60 years it wouldn't be wherever Brady left it.

Also the author says he found it because he noticed a patch of ground where nothing was growing. There is no reason why plants wouldn't grow above the place where a body is buried.
