What do you eat for breakfast?

I pretty much always just have a cup of tea and toast. It’s a bit boring though. I’d like to try something different but I just wondered what most people ate on weekday mornings.

I have porridge with strawberries and blueberries, or if I am running late or can't be bothered I just have a bowl of shreddies.

Carrieonmywaywardsun · 30/09/2022 12:11

English muffin toasted with butter and jam, granola and yoghurt, pastries and coffee

Lansonmaid · 30/09/2022 12:11

A small bowl of fresh fruit and keffir, and either a slice of toast and marmite/ jam / nut butter or a bowl of bran flakes and milk. Plus a large mug of tea that is needed to wake me up!

A mug of green tea and two thirds of a yoghurt the dog has the other third .

megletthesecond · 30/09/2022 12:14

Overnight oats with sugar, milk, yoghurt and bananas / blueberries. Mug of tea.

Fivemoreminutes1 · 30/09/2022 12:15

Normally it’s muesli with yogurt instead of milk. If we have leftover sausages, I have a sausage sarnie and a smoothie.
When it gets colder I’ll probably have porridge with banana + nut butter or apple, sultanas + cinnamon.

ComtesseDeSpair · 30/09/2022 12:16

Whatever my EA feels like picking up for me on her way into the office. Or whatever fruit is left from the previous day’s corporate fruit delivery. So sometimes I have fresh sushi and sometimes a slightly sad pear.

It’s gotten me into the joys of not feeling like you must eat “breakfast food” at breakfast time, though. If you feel like tomato soup or a steak, have it.

PeloFondo · 30/09/2022 12:16

Just tea as I fast until lunch
Used to like porridge or scrambled egg on toast

BorisJohnsonsHair · 30/09/2022 12:17

Plain live yoghurt with 2 or 3 types of berries plus toasted nuts and seeds. Large coffee.

GiltEdges · 30/09/2022 12:19

Mon-Fri: A green tea with lemon
Sat-Sun: Usually a cream cheese bagel and coffee, or sometimes we’ll make pancakes with banana and maple syrup if DS is in the mood for helping in the kitchen.

FlipFlops4Me · 30/09/2022 12:20

Porridge - but it must be Jumbo oats and oat milk. I add a squirt of agave syrup too. If there are enough I add strawberries, if not I give DH the strawberries and chuck a small handful of sultanas in.

Vampirethriller · 30/09/2022 12:23

Porridge and jam or Derbyshire oatcakes.

I am never hungry in the mornings, a cup of earl grey does it for me.

Inextremis · 30/09/2022 12:24

Eggs and bacon, or smoked haddock and eggs, or leftover curry from the night before, usually.

MaryTruss · 30/09/2022 12:32

Porridge and butter

OldTinHat · 30/09/2022 12:33

Fat free yogurt and berries or scrambled egg.

Skyeheather · 30/09/2022 12:35

Coffee, toast and orange juice. Sometimes I'll have a bowl of Oat So Simple instead of the toast if we have excess milk which needs using up.

Dalekjastninerels · 30/09/2022 12:36

MaryTruss · 30/09/2022 12:32

Porridge and butter

Together?

Is it nice?

I would never think to put these together.

Lemonyfuckit · 30/09/2022 12:38

If in office - porridge and honey or Bircher muesli. If wfh - usually Greek yoghurt and some fruit.
Weekends - toast as we have a bread maker so put a loaf on overnight on Fridays for the weekend.

Dalekjastninerels · 30/09/2022 12:39

Varies hugely.

I will eat what is considered breakfast foods like cereals, toast etc but wil also eat 2 minutes noodles for breakfast.

Sometimes I don't have anything at all.

Ponp · 30/09/2022 12:39

Normally rice or noodles with egg and some vegetables or leftovers from the night before.

I put the rice on timer to cook for the morning so its not any extra morning work.

Allthegoodnamesarechosen · 30/09/2022 12:45

any one :
Fried egg and tomato
croissant and jam
mushroom omelette
muesli and fruit
stewed plums and yogurt
grated apple and yogurt
if I’m very lucky kipper and egg ( no lunch that day)
sausage and egg if decorating / doing big garden

I like breakfast. Lunch is just tomato juice and maybe peanuts.

Whichwhatnow · 30/09/2022 12:47

Usually leftovers from last night's dinner (I can't usually finish a whole portion). Otherwise maybe a veg omelette, a bacon sandwich or something like those microwave veg and rice packs fried up with egg if I have the time and inclination. Then some fruit.

I pretty much always have 'proper' food for breakfast. Toast, pastries, cereal or porridge etc never seem to fill me up until lunchtime.

sparklecement · 30/09/2022 12:48

scrambled egg and a coffee.
