Hi,

Every Saturday is pizza night with Strictly and instead of takeaway, this year we're going to work our way through some supermarket ones to save on money (and hopefully calories!)

So what's your favourite supermarket pizza please. My current favourite is Aldi Calbrese with rocket side salad

Co op pizzas are lovely, Never heard of Crosta & Mollica.

And who wants to faff about making dough on a Saturday night.

Same. Very good.

I know this sounds odd but the Tesco cheapo frozen margherita deep pan pizza in an orange box. My kids prefer it to any other supermarket pizzas, including M&S and Waitrose.

i assemble my own using left over chicken curry on those big Nan bread topped with cheese.

I used to own a café and had this on my Menu. Easily my best lunchtime seller. 😊 Would also make them up for folk to take away and cook at home (always a hit on Fridays and Saturdays)

Aldi rectangle frozen pizzas.

Dr Oetker, very thin and crisp, I buy from nearby Iceland. You have to be willing to add topping to all supermarket ones.
I do enjoy making my own if batch cooking and freeze half the pastry for later.

AriettyHomily · 30/09/2022 17:59

They're all disappointing. Particularly the fancy ones but if I had to it would be the cheap crispy frozen ones from Sainsburys.

We make our own on tortillas.

gogohmm · 30/09/2022 18:08

Makes your own then. I make dough earlier in the day then refrigerate once risen. Make a simple tomato base with passata, or cheat and use the tomato pesto - roll out the base, load up favourite topping add cheese. You can reduce the calories by choosing healthy toppings

Tesco sourdough with prawns. Gorgeous.

TheTeddyBears · 01/10/2022 12:59

Garlic king prawn and chilli from Waitrose. Used to get it fairly often haven't had it in forever as I no longer get any Waitrose deliveries it's too expensive. Not local either.

Another one I love that u can get at lots of shops is Chicago town stuffed crust takeaway pizza my fav one is honey bbq salami.

I hate the ones u get made fresh at supermarkets I don't think they are very nice at all.

They used to do a pesto one but I can't find it anymore.

Aldi do a good sourdough one with peppers and nduja, less than £2.00.

inappropriateraspberry · 01/10/2022 13:20

Lidl deluxe sourdough pizzas. Delicious!

inappropriateraspberry · 01/10/2022 13:23

Tonight we have some cheap basic cheese and tomato pizzas that we'll add some extras onto. Ham, mushroom etc.

Shortkiwi · 01/10/2022 13:32

Aldi specially selected wood fired Italian ham, mushroom and mascarpone

Chillywilly93 · 02/11/2022 10:35

For me it's either the Co-op irresistible pizzas or the standard M&S pizzas. The standard M&S pizzas are usually part of a £12 meal deal too which is handy. Any time my DH fancies a takeaway, I just walk to the nearby M&S and buy the meal deal
