Best supermarket or brand pizza

Hi,

Every Saturday is pizza night with Strictly and instead of takeaway, this year we're going to work our way through some supermarket ones to save on money (and hopefully calories!)

So what's your favourite supermarket pizza please. My current favourite is Aldi Calbrese with rocket side salad

Nobody likes pizza then 😂

Redglitter · 30/09/2022 01:41

Asda make your own ones. Love them

Chicken, beef, pepperoni & extra cheese 😁

Lexie365 · 30/09/2022 01:45

Asda double pepperoni frozen is chefs kiss

FatMog · 30/09/2022 02:57

We buy a good basic margarita and add our own toppings.

unicornsinspace · 30/09/2022 03:08

Sainsburys takeaway stuffed crust are the best

Bloodybridget · 30/09/2022 03:19

Crolla and Mollica do the best supermarket pizzas I've had. I usually buy the margarita, and add stuff I like - olives, capers, anchovies.

MissBattleaxe · 30/09/2022 05:56

Iceland stonebaked American Hot is excellent. Iceland does amazing pizza. I prefer shop pizza to takeaway pizza. I don't like Goodfellows though.

Lulu1919 · 30/09/2022 05:58

Waitrose ...especially when they are in offer or nearly out of date !!

SweetPeaPods · 30/09/2022 06:17

Have you thought about making your own? Very easy with a basic dough

yikesanotherbooboo · 30/09/2022 06:18

Corolla and Mollica

BarbaraofSeville · 30/09/2022 06:43

Making your own pizza is time consuming and faffy, and I say that as someone who cooks from scratch a lot.

For ready made, another vote for Crosta and Mollica, and put your own toppings on if you don't like their limited selection. If you have a Costco card, they sell twin packs for quite a bit cheaper than supermarket prices.

Aldi spinach and goats cheese

canihaveawineyet · 30/09/2022 06:45

Another vote for Crosta and Mollica, or the Gino range from Asda are also really good

Motherofalegend · 30/09/2022 06:47

Crolla and Mollica are the best. In Morrisons they have the base with tomato sauce so you can add your own toppings, but in Waitrose there are so many options! Even a smaller two pack for less than a fiver which are great for kids - we’ve had the Plain cheese, salami and vegan one.

yummy!

WomanWomenGirlsFemale · 30/09/2022 07:45

Crosta and Mollica.

cookiecreammmpie · 30/09/2022 07:50

I'm not a big fan of pizza but I got my son a bbq chicken one from Lidl. It had peppers on and had a crunchy base It was really nice.

EgonsShell · 30/09/2022 07:51

We really like the Corolla margherita, it's a bit more authentic Italian than other brands and is delicious!

And Asda 'build your own' are good too.

Sorry, that should have read Crosta & Mollica margherita!

Lurleene · 30/09/2022 07:57

If we want a lardy pizza we get the Sainsburys £10 deal, two pizzas, two substantial sides and a dip. It is the closest thing for us to ordering in.

£10 pizza deal

TeddyTed · 30/09/2022 08:04

My favourite is Sainsbury’s Taste the Difference prosciutto and mushroom with a bit of cheesy garlic bread on the side.

I totally disagree that making your own pizza is time-consuming and faffy!!

It's so cheap and everyone can add their own toppings.

Give it a try first with bought bases or pizza dough then work up to making your own dough!

missbipolar · 30/09/2022 09:02

Sainsburys or asdas pizza counters

Geamhradh · 30/09/2022 09:04

M&S, Sainsbury's or Waitrose.
These are the ones I'd buy in the UK. (I'm in Italy and even we only make our own if a) in lockdown b) want a pizza that will never be as good as a professionally made one)

LadyDanburysHat · 30/09/2022 09:06

Asda or Sainsburys build your own are popular here. We also buy the Jus Rol pizza dough and make our own with that. It is really tasty. I Iike to use tomato and mascarpone pasta sauce.
