... and put the central heating on.

Anyone else?

yes, it's 12 degrees here. I'm not going to sit here and feel cold

Twiglets1 · 26/09/2022 17:55

So did I earlier today.
Husband hadn’t noticed yet - surprised he doesn’t realise it’s suddenly warm & toasty 😂

ProlifiInProfanity · 26/09/2022 17:56

We (sat wrapped up in throws) just set our thermostat to 15 to see what happened.
The heating instantly kicked in. No wonder we were so cold!

ShirleyPhallus · 26/09/2022 17:56

I’m holding out for some more weeks still but it’s 2 jumper cold here. Colder inside than outside.

It just flipped from summer to a cold autumn overnight

ForensicFlossy · 26/09/2022 17:58

I caved about half an hour ago, it's freezing!

KarenPiriesTankTop · 26/09/2022 17:59

Not me! Doesn’t feel chilly enough yet.

TooHotToRamble · 26/09/2022 18:01

I'm trying to hold out until October. Under a heated blanket at the moment!

BMW6 · 26/09/2022 18:02

Our thermostat is set at 15 and hasn't kicked in.

I put it up to 19 for an hour at 7am the other day, but not since.

Surtsey · 26/09/2022 18:03

I think I could have held out a bit longer, but I've got a slight fluey thing, and it is making me feel the cold today.

I had mine on yesterday afternoon. My nose was freezing cold Shock

toomuchfaster · 26/09/2022 18:04

No, it's not cold enough here. I'm in shorts and have put a jumper on to eat tea. DD is in shorts and t-shirt with bare feet!!

waterlego · 26/09/2022 18:04

Waiting till half term at least. Still have the bedroom window open at night too. I’m in the SE though, it’s usually warmer here than lots of other UK places. I have started wearing my giant fleece hoodie in the evenings though.

GroggyLegs · 26/09/2022 18:06

Thermostat is king.
It's set to 18 and kicked in last week.

Caveat - were on a fixed price tariff still.

AYearOfCushions · 26/09/2022 18:08

Not me, my thermostat says it's 21.8 degrees in my house so not cold at all.

I felt cold in bed last night and made a hot water bottle but that's the first time I've felt chilly.

Same!

MrsCarson · 26/09/2022 18:11

Not yet. It's 12 outside here but the sun shone through the windows earlier and inside is still 17 so we should be OK with the wooly socks and fleece hoodie.

Belladonnamama · 26/09/2022 18:12

I put mine on for one hour on Friday night. Sat on the sofa now with a warm blanket and hot water bottle which is keeping me warm.

user1497787065 · 26/09/2022 18:17

14 degrees here so not yet although I have just put on a sweatshirt and slippers.

CoffeeBeansGalore · 26/09/2022 18:18

We've been having it on for the odd half hour since last week. This afternoon there was sleet in the rain. Have lit the fire!

Surtsey · 26/09/2022 18:19

Our thermostat was reading 21.5 but it is on the warmest wall in the house (on the outside wall of the airing cupboard - whoever sited it there was a twit), so it is somewhat unreliable as an indicator of what the rest of the house is like. It is 16 in another room, and that's just a tad too cold for my arthritic joints. Age is catching up on me a bit this year. 😕

JaneJeffer · 26/09/2022 18:24

Put it on yesterday

PainterInPeril · 26/09/2022 18:27

I can't put mine on yet as I'm waiting for the boiler to be fixed (next week). Really hoping the weather doesn't get too cold yet! 😁

SarahShorty · 26/09/2022 18:31

Not yet. I sometimes use a fan heater to take the edge off in the mornings and evenings. I generally hold out until the temperature in the house gets to 10C. The boiler kicks on to protect itself at 5C, but the temperature outside needs to plummet to well below freezing for that to happen.

IceStationZebra · 26/09/2022 18:31

Ours is at 16 and came on early one morning a few days ago. Glorious sunshine around here today though so the house doesn’t feel chilly. This is my first winter with an Oodie, bought in April, so I am going to see how well I can manage with minimal heating in the house during the evenings as well as the day.

TwoWrightFeet · 26/09/2022 18:35

I’ve had the windows open all day and I’m wearing shorts. Couldn’t even consider having the heating on yet.
