... and put the central heating on.

Anyone else?

It's still mild near me. It was quite warm earlier while the sun was out so I'm hoping I can hold out for a couple more weeks at least. I've been having the electric blanket on for a bit when I first get into bed though.

Rattlethestars · 26/09/2022 18:37

We did yesterday as the kids have had colds, so wanted them to have a warm baths and lovely warm towels and PJs last night.

Savingpeoplehuntingthings · 26/09/2022 18:39

Nope, it won't go on for a good while yet. The thermometer in my front room says 16degrees so not too bad.

pinok · 26/09/2022 18:40

Not yet I feel hot way too easily though and it makes me grumpy

kimchifox · 26/09/2022 18:40

Does anyone think my meat thermometer is giving me an accurate reading of the air temperature in different rooms in my house? I've been walking around waving it around today & hope none of the neighbours saw me doing it. Obviously outing if you are my neighbour and you did see.

Norugratsatall · 26/09/2022 18:40

I'm holding out for as long as I can! Two pairs of socks on, fingerless gloves and thermal top! Feels more like nov than sept! 😩

Longdistance · 26/09/2022 18:41

Nope.

Dd can’t home from school. She was after something and cuddling me and bring nice and then came…‘can you put the fire on please mum?’ ‘No’.

It’s been raining the best part of all day here. Some points it was torrential. It’s cold, but both that cold it warrants heating. Hot water bottles and fleece blankets.

I wondered what you were doing...

MadeForThis · 26/09/2022 18:46

Alexa says it's 10°. I assume that's from the weather tho and not actual room temp.

It's chilly but in a hoody and slippers.

I'm determined to make it to October before turning the oil on. Not really sure why.

Paranoidandroidmarvin · 26/09/2022 18:46

I’m in the south east. Not cold enough here. Hotted up today that I opened the back door and ate lunch in the garden. Didn’t stay like that. But was nice

BamBamBilla · 26/09/2022 18:48

Yes but it would have been last week but the boiler wasn't working properly so the landlord had to organise it getting fixed today. Just this minute turned it on to take the chill off.

Zingy123 · 26/09/2022 18:50

I'm sitting in a t-shirt it's not cold.

Reaaaaallly trying not to. So, not so far.

Coconut212 · 26/09/2022 18:50

I’m just outside Glasgow and it’s a gorgeous day, wind is chilly but not cold enough indoors for heating to be on just yet.

Shinyhappyperson22 · 26/09/2022 18:50

While the house temp dropped over night it’s now 19 degrees in our 30s semi. So no no heating. I see another thread where an hours worth of heating cost them 80p. It’s not that cold yet!

Surtsey · 26/09/2022 18:53

So it is a bit of a mixture then, between those who have relented, and those still wearing t-shirts and shorts.

It's beginning to feel a lot like a Monty Python four Yorshiremen sketch. When I was a kid we had to scrape the ice away from round the inside of the front door before we could open it to go out.

Nope! I've put on a jumper and a cardigan and thick socks. I managed last year without. Not funny, especially having windows open to prevent damp.

Allmarbleslost · 26/09/2022 18:55

No. The thermostat is set to 18 and it hasn't clicked in.

Lyricallie · 26/09/2022 18:55

Currently 9c outside my house (uncertain inside) so yes the heating has been going on. Literally seems to have changed to autumn suddenly.

sittingonacornflake · 26/09/2022 18:56

Lovely and warm in SE Cornwall today. Roof down on the car. Currently in a short sleeved t shirt at home. Windows still open upstairs. Definitely not putting the heating on yet!

AriettyHomily · 26/09/2022 18:56

Not cold enough here yet, I hate the stuffy feel of heating when it's not cold enough for it to be on. We don't have a thermostat, but the kids' bedroom is still hovering around 21.5.

Izzy24 · 26/09/2022 18:09

Same!

Us too

Northernsoullover · 26/09/2022 18:59

I want to but I'm not going to. I don't know how I will afford it.

NotQuiteUsual · 26/09/2022 19:02

Not yet. Soon. Really hoping the weather turns a bit warmer so I can put it off a few more weeks.

AffIt · 26/09/2022 19:03

Me. I was SO determined to get to the end of September, but it's bloody freezing today and I've decided to just whack it on for a few hours.

Won't put it on to auto for another couple of weeks, though.
