Which room is the untidiest in your house?

Teenage daughter’s room!

After the summer holidays it has got really grotty. It’s getting me down and I feel like blitzing it while she is at school. She will do the basics eg dust the shelves, put dirty clothes in the wash but it needs proper decluttering, hoovering behind the bed and between the cupboards, sorting out clothes that don’t fit any more, organising all the shelves. It’s too small for her now she is a teenager but I don’t know where to start!

What’s the worst room in your house and are you avoiding it like me?

Kitchen!

It's clean but I don't have enough storage so I'm constantly shuffling things around to make space for what I'm doing. It drives me mad.

I have teenagers too so that's telling you something about how much I hate it!

PangolinPie · 19/09/2022 20:45

Teenager dd's too. It is completely and utterly disgusting. There is a "pathway" through the clean and dirty clothes on her floor to the bed, every surface is covered in crap:dirty dishes, just stuff everywhere. I've given up. It doesn't matter if I nag, shout, or clean it myself eventually. It ends up back to this. You could stir it with a stick.

👏🏻 Pathway and 👏🏻👏🏻 Stir it with a stick

Judelawswife68 · 19/09/2022 20:47

Youngest teens bedroom.

CatGrins · 19/09/2022 20:47

Suddenly feeling thankful I have semi tidy boys!

Frenchfancy · 19/09/2022 20:48

Another teenage daughter. I just close the door. If I went in and cleared her stuff out without her she probably wouldn't speak to me again. Rightly so. It is her stuff and her space. General house rule is no eating in the bedrooms as we have mouse problems in the past.

Imissmoominmama · 19/09/2022 20:49

My bedroom 😬

threegoodthings · 19/09/2022 20:49

DD11's room. Clean clothes, dirty clothes, drinks, lego, art stuff, school stuff, just everywhere. Every so often we have a tidy up together and it seems to be back in its original state within about 10 minutes

Rest of the house is lovely!

blibblibs · 19/09/2022 20:51

DD13 room without a doubt.

TheSausageKingofChicago · 19/09/2022 20:52

Teen rooms aside, it’s me and my floordrobe

HeadacheEarthquake · 19/09/2022 20:57

The home office - dh in there every day so cleaner can't get it and neither can I. When he goes in to the office once a week I get in there like rambo.

LT2 · 19/09/2022 20:59

Our bedroom. Mainly because we are bad at putting clothes away. My son is just a baby otherwise I'm sure his would be worse!

DramaAlpaca · 19/09/2022 20:59

DS's room. Luckily he's an adult so if it's messy I don't have to care.

vodkaredbullgirl · 19/09/2022 21:03

My 22 yr old's bedroom, mind you she does have the smallest room.

cookiecreammmpie · 19/09/2022 21:14

Teenage son's bedroom.

MrsPear · 19/09/2022 21:16

Youngest child usually - toys scattered. Eldest is all grown up at 12 and it’s just school books in piles. I miss the toys. I’ve stopped nagging the youngest and only lift them up once a week to Hoover.

Chocolatesandroses · 19/09/2022 21:17

Kitchen ! I think when a area is small that’s why it’s untidy as u don’t have enough room to store things

Bestcatmum · 19/09/2022 21:17

My kitchen, its clean but where the blazes did all this stuff in drawers come from? Its my task this week to blitz it and either chuck stuff or give it to the charity shop.

Girliefriendlikespuppies · 19/09/2022 21:17

Teen dds room as well!

Tbf it's not too bad but definitely messier than I would like.

Teenage daughters bedroom here too.
Then my bedroom because that's where all the crap without a home ends up.

TheLightSideOfTheMoon · 19/09/2022 21:19

Partner’s hobby room.

It’s a cluttered shambles.

Luckily I was blessed with a tidy teen.

User287264 · 19/09/2022 21:21

Ds15's bedroom. Wins by a mile.

WorkCleanRepeat · 19/09/2022 21:22

The utility room. Im sure there are more clean clothes in there than there are upstairs.

Believeitornot · 19/09/2022 21:23

Our study. I have a good routine for everywhere but that one. I use it for work but it’s use has changed many times so keeps being a dump!
