What a woman, she is 72 years old !! I can’t believe how amazing she has been in the last few days.

I always knew she was the most hardworking royal , but this week she has been outstanding.

She's better than all of the others put together (And I think the Queen realised that to some extent). She fully deserves her Princess Royal title and I love that she gave her children normal names (as indeed, they have done to their own children).

My only complaint about her is her habitual hairdo, which until very recently, made her look about 20 years older than she actually is

She talked about her hairdo once. It takes her m minutes and is neat so suitable for an event or riding a horse. She isn’t interested in doing anything fancy.

Her carers centres saved my Dads life as my mum was due to snap and smother him. She went to the carers centre and they just sat with her and had a cup of tea. That sauce and talking to people who’d been there was so beneficial. They also got her some outside help (proper paid carers), she didn’t think she’d be entitled to help.

She set up the Princess Royal Trust for Carers when she was made Princess Royal and wanted to have a charity in her own name. They took over an existing charity called The George Square Trust in Glasgow.
They then set about creating carers centres all over the UK.

I watched a TV programme a couple of years ago. She was travelling around the UK with her husband inspecting lighthouses. She was talking on the subject with great knowledge and interest and came across really well.

I admire the way she refuses to be sidelined in anyway because she's female. When the other women get in the car, Anne is walking, when they're supposed to watch from the sidelines at the vigil, she's standing there with her brothers. Whatever your views on the monarchy I think she is admirable. When you are part of one of the most protocol bound institutions in the world it can't be easy to defy tradition even if you are the Queen's daughter.

And she wears trousers as part of her dress uniform!

mackthepony · 13/09/2022 01:45

That front room makes me feel a ton better!!

Canthave2manycats · 13/09/2022 01:56

Anne is an icon! Though it has to be said, I admire all of them. Imagine losing your mother and having to do all the public stuff they have had to do! They must be exhausted! Respect to them all!

RandomPenguinHouse · 13/09/2022 02:04

This thread is fab. As is she.

I didn’t know about the out of control dog(s) though Shock

Tamworthian · 13/09/2022 02:39

I liked her shrug when Trump was visiting. Would have loved to be a fly on the wall afterward.

Joolianne · 13/09/2022 03:06

Princess Anne is the top royal.

GlorianaCervixia · 13/09/2022 03:10

I like her very much. So down to earth and hard working. Seeing her face so filled with grief has been the most moving moment for me of all the television coverage.

Joolianne · 13/09/2022 03:15

Princess Anne is the top royal afer our Queen.

Joolianne · 13/09/2022 03:19

Princess Anne is the best royal. After our queen.

"I liked her shrug when Trump was visiting. Would have loved to be a fly on the wall afterward."

Trump's a good man and a great leader who will be reinstated to office. I don't know or care about anyone shrugging, but I do know he and the Queen got along beautifully. 😎👍

malibuvalley · 13/09/2022 04:49

I think Princess Anne will play an important for Charles. She will be his tower of strength.

I'd heard rumours of their existence, but I'd never before seen one in the wild.👌

Everyone bangs on about how Charles cares about the environment but we hardly hear a peep about Anne saving the planet by recycling her old clothes.

I'm looking forward to seeing what she wears for the Queen's funeral. I bet it's the same frock she wore for her dad's and her granny's and Diana's.

TeenDivided · 13/09/2022 05:48

Wearing an outfit more than once is common sense, not recycling.

I too was struck by Princess Anne wearing trousers with her uniform yesterday, how long has she been doing that for?

refused to be kidnapped. Just Not Having It. And that was that!

Fantastic :) And who would argue ?

Anne has a very distinctive voice. I was at a horse related event, and was walking the course in front of her, and swore I could hear her.,,said to my friend who I was with ' Im sure I can hear Princess Anne'

I turned round, she smiled widely and said ' You did! Im 5 yards behind you' ...shared a chuckle, wished each other a lucky day...and that was that...I think a genuine woman with great endurance. Feel for her at the moment.

Matildahoney · 13/09/2022 06:45

My dad met her at an army do recently, he said she was a lovely lady, really down to earth, laughing & joking with everyone, great sense of humour, just very down to earth

Jennybeans401 · 13/09/2022 07:04

I like her more than Charles, she's got her mother's stoicism.

I don't think Charles will be a good King, too selfish.

MrsLargeEmbodied · 13/09/2022 07:20

that parkinson video is excellent

derxa · 13/09/2022 07:30

I love her stoic support for the Scottish rugby team. I'd genuinely love to have a chat with her about her farm on the Gatcombe estate.

Yes, agree, natural selection perhaps keeping the numbers down. 🤣
