It was inevitable but in this I feel very sorry for his siblings and daughters.

Andrew may be a national embarrassment, but I think you've got to be an even bigger tosser to heckle a funeral.

I agree with that. Not because Andrew doesn't deserve everything he gets, but out of respect for the other mourners there.

Charles, Anne and Edward did not deserve to have the funeral cortege heckled regardless of Andrew being the target.

Andrew should have been much more discreet about his public appearances here. I would expect to see him at his mother's funeral. Then I would expect to see him disappear from public view again, not use it as a potential springboard back into public life. I would expect and hope that he does and says nothing else.

Not holding my breath though. Charles is going to have to keep a close eye on him, and as tight a rein as possible.

GreekGod · 12/09/2022 19:21

Awful man who did horrid things and took advantage of innocent teenage girls. I thought they had ousted him from the royal family - he’s everywhere !

PerfectlyPreservedQuagaarWarrior · 12/09/2022 19:21

fatgirlslimmer · 12/09/2022 19:02

This explains it perfectly

plus he’s a pompous twat who continues to embarrass his family

Yy.

The decision to include Andrew in all this really hasn't gone well for the RF. There was the arse thing yesterday, which whatever you think of it has led to a load of comments they could do without, and now this. With the queen's decision to support him in the face of his Epstein troubles continuing to loom in the background.

And on a parenting forum @lemmein
The pearl clutches trying to justify their posts here are a right laugh!

There are millions of people posting here who are not parents.

MN maybe set itself up as a parenting forum, but it's certainly not exclusively that any more.

Vanderpump · 12/09/2022 19:23

It wasn't the funeral, it was one of many processions

Facecream · 12/09/2022 19:24

@ReluctantCourier
Exactly 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Hang on, let's just be clear. There is no planet in the universe where heckling is worse than paedophilia.

Literally

lemmein · 12/09/2022 19:25

*The only reason I stated the age of consent and the age of his accuser was to illustrate it didn’t meet the definition of paedophillia.

Rape is rape no ifs no buts.

At no point have I commented on the allegations, legally that is what they are. I believe he should be prosecuted but there has to be sufficient evidence. This may include sexual assault, rape, coercion, trafficking etc. but would not include paedophillia.*

Who gives a shit though? You're really coming across as those who scream VULVA when a poster mistakingly says vagina 🙄

I don't care how old his victims were, I don't care what label people give him - I do care that he's evaded justice and is now being paraded through the streets and those who object are being called disrespectful.

It shouldn't take the courage of one young boy to shout that it's not ok.

JudithHarper · 12/09/2022 17:20

Andrew is a tosser of the highest order but he is at his mothers funeral. There is a time and place.

This.

AuntyDorisMum · 12/09/2022 19:26

I can't stand Andrew, but I think anyone who heckles in those circumstances is an idiot because it's not simply Andrew who is 'hurt' but the occasion.

I am sure that every single person watching him today had plenty they'd like to have said to him, but it wasn't the place or the time.

It was deeply disrespectful to the Queen and all her family, and indeed the public who turned out today.

They aren't responsible for their siblings behaviour and Charles has already said 'there will be no way back into public life' for Andrew.

Wtf are you on about? Not agreeing with sex-trafficking is 'pearl-clutching' now? Fuck off! 🤣

CannotUnsee · 12/09/2022 18:54

It is way too much I agree. I really really hope it was innocent. But it really didn't look it... I did post a link to the footage but It's being checked out by MN so it may or may not appear.

I obviously can't see your clip, but there was a time when his 'comforting' of Eugenie made me feel uncomfortable. Didn't see him with Beatrice.

He is an odious man, and clearly was trying to take centre stage amongst the rest of the family.

MarieIVanArkleStinks · 12/09/2022 19:26

Novella4 · 12/09/2022 19:12

Yes they must have planned for this 'handover ' but clearly were ( rightly ) worried about the public accepting Charles .

They have really mismanaged this . They make the royals look nervous - a confident king doesn't need to use the police in this way
A confident royal family would welcome free speech
The UK is feeling dystopian these days

I'm really heartened that mainstream media attention is being drawn to this.

A position of sense amid so much madness over the past few days.

MadeWithCare · 12/09/2022 19:27

I just watched the video from yesterday, fully expecting to think it was a fuss over nothing, but OMG that's an uncomfortable watch.

As for the heckling, it's not something I'd have done at this occasion, but it's not the funeral, it's a very public thing of pomp and ceremony, paid for by the public and there was no need for him to be there. Poor judgement all round to include him IMO, although I was pleased to see he had to appear without his uniform and medals.

Shouting at a person walking in the procession does not disrespect the Queen. It just doesn’t.

It made me shudder. It's exactly the same kind of 'plausible deniability' so frequently used by predatory males, almost as if they have the same MO.

And whilst it's a big reach from footage of a few seconds to deduce that he's interacting with his daughter inappropriately, in view of his recent track record you have to think he'd be more careful about optics. This sort of thing looks very bad.

Wallaw · 12/09/2022 19:30

I've just seen that he will be allowed to wear his military uniform, not at the funeral, but at the final vigil. Ugh.

ilovesooty · 12/09/2022 19:31

Violashift · 12/09/2022 17:48

But the funeral isn't until Monday. He can stay away until then. The pervert.

Exactly. The funeral is next Monday and he shouldn't be seen in public with the Royal family before or after.

I shall certainly be judging the monarchy after the funeral by the King's commitment to excluding him from any public appearance where the Royal family is present.

Agreed. My father managed to comfort me at the brothers funeral without stroking my arse crack!

Especially as the target of the heckling was a perv of a son she was happy to support. It's actually incredibly fitting. Frankly the fact that nobody's yet protested about what the queen herself did means the RF have got off fairly lightly.

Perfect28 · 12/09/2022 17:33

He’s not a paedophile. All heckling on such an inappropriate occasion achieves is to make him look like a martyr. It was completely counterproductive and stupid.

Unforgettablefire · 12/09/2022 19:33

I don't like the man for what he's done but its not fair on the rest of the family, the people in the procession or the crowd having someone screaming abuse like that. Horribly disrespectful probably wanted his face in the papers.
Today was about the queen and the folk of Scotland who really did her proud.
