Has me cracking up.

Who thought to put it at the side where they sign. They have all moved it. The King wiggling the pens will become a meme...
Then ThenPrince of Wales didnt have a pen 🤣🤣

Yes, it had me laughing as well. I was thinking just move the chuffing pots! It's amazing how in the most sombre of moments there's always 'something' that lightens the mood.

Clunkclicksuckmydick · 10/09/2022 10:58

DS watched it with me, and has already popped back in to show me a meme of Charles shuffling the pen tray.

YoniWheretheSunDontShine · 10/09/2022 10:58

I am aghast that this was broadcast to the entire world.

Our new king having the smallest table, the largest paper's and the obstacles of ink pot's to navigate??

Imagine Putin's thought's watching that??

??

Hilarious but astonishing.

Charles is known to be petulant!! That ink will be thrown

YoniWheretheSunDontShine · 10/09/2022 11:09

🤣🤣🤣 absolute book shelf a new roles will be created, the keeper of the royal pen and inks.

Table measures will also be part of the new regime dating back to Charles iii

Drivebye · 10/09/2022 11:11

That hand flapping and look of annoyance - ugh why couldn't be just move it. I didn't think it was funny, it looked arrogant and impatient.

YoniWheretheSunDontShine · 10/09/2022 11:14

Drive he has ebreyone right to be annoyed it's supposed to be an incredible serious moment forever remembered by him being laid low by a pen

YoniWheretheSunDontShine · 10/09/2022 11:16

Forest there was literally no where to move it too. And he knocked something.

Imagine if ink had gone over the while document? One prays back up documents were ready!

I thought he looked nervous and uncomfortable. The table simply wasn’t big enough.

His mother died 2 days ago, he is in a room with 100s of people watching him and millions of people around the world, cut him some slack.

Move it where? 😂 The whole table was full of document.

YoniWheretheSunDontShine · 10/09/2022 11:20

It's hard to imagine the sheer weight on that man right now. The world's eyes are watching him go through this process, televised whilst also remembering his late mother's death!

Antarcticant · 10/09/2022 11:21

On another note, what on earth were Bojo and Gordon Brown talking about so animatedly in the front row. Brown kept saying something into Boris's ear, and then Boris started flapping his hands about.

LazyDaisy22 · 10/09/2022 11:22

He obviously grieving for his mother and is having to cope with all the events connected with him becoming King so I’m hoping it is just stress and grief that made him act so irritably over the pens. But it did make me see him a bit differently.

I thought that - I bet the lip readers were on it!

SquirrelFan · 10/09/2022 11:31

It should be on I-player.

Inkanta · 10/09/2022 11:33

Yes I came on here too to see what's been said about the the ink wells and tray of pens situation. A tense moment I thought.

Netaporter · 10/09/2022 11:36

I was a bit 😱 when Camilla wasn’t quite sure where to sign nor the Arch Bishop of Canterbury. Obviously Camilla, Charles and I assume PW all had new signatures which they’d had bugger-all time to practice. Thought Penny Mordaunt did very well to not stumble over the texts (and also the King who was a consummate professional ) given she had zero notice. Also noticed Boris and DC stayed waaay apart. Interesting to see who was chatting to who really (Bojo and GB). And Andrea Leasdsom who is usually portrayed in the media as having very sharp elbows happy to stay right at the back.

Netaporter · 10/09/2022 11:37

I’d also add, even with a dry run of it all, the weight of the world watching must be immense.

I imagine its the little things that cause the most annoyance when you're grieving, taking on huge responsibilities and are in front of the World media, give the man a break. It was thoughtless to have a teeny table laid out like that and was obvious it would cause a problem for all of them.

SoupDragon · 10/09/2022 11:39

The voice over said that William signed William P for the first time.

Antarcticant · 10/09/2022 11:39

You could very clearly see Camilla's hand moving to form the signature 'Camilla R' - it was quite slow so she must be getting used to it still.

Antarcticant · 10/09/2022 11:41

This is interesting from The Sun:

I see that as a sign of good sense - never sign anything until you've checked exactly what it is you're signing and where.

It's a force of habit that's just as important for matters of constitution as it is for when your kid waves a pale blue piece of paper from school at 8.29am saying 'You've got to sign this, Mum'.

I did notice a pause after he signed Charles - and then added the R. It'll take a while for it to fully flow.
