Is this what women over 45 look like?

I’m turning 44 later this month. Is this what I’ve got to look forward to a year from now. I’m particularly disturbed by the cane.

45 - 50 and 60 - 65 look like the same woman to me, same face, same necklace, same comfy slacks, same outlandish hair ornament. I am the older of this strange duo. Where can I buy one of those giant cardies? When I hit 65 is it compulsory for me to carry a pet, wear a pleated skirt and dye my hair lavender in order to exercise ? Looks like I need to throw out my sportswear and invest in a beret, a pussy bow blouse and a pair of sling backs if I want to stay fit.

There is another advert showing up now on this very thread with mature women with LEOPARDS on their shoulders. I am attempting a screen shot.

They’ve upped their game.

carefullycourageous · 06/09/2022 19:36

The fucking men gave me the rage! Someone who designed that REALLY hates women Sad

Mumkins42 · 06/09/2022 19:39

I'm more disturbed by the multiple selfies and compliment fishing

myalternatename · 06/09/2022 19:40

I'm 55, I'm just back from the gym where I did some weight training and an hour in the pool. I'm not sure whether to dye my hair orange or get a perm, the groups overlap!

bouncydog · 06/09/2022 19:49

This did make me laugh as I’m 65! Still wear jeans mostly no elastic waistbands in sight! Even my 88 year old mum goes to the gym 3 times a week and looks amazing!

MumkinPatch · 06/09/2022 19:52

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣. This made me laugh SO much! I’m 48 and didn’t realise that’s how I was looking. I need to go out and get myself a stick 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Wherearemyspex · 06/09/2022 19:54

Hi ... 68 year old here. Far from wearing woolly cardigans and hugging my cat, today I went to do a food shop wearing a pair of size 10 skinny jeans, a flattering top and heeled boots as well as a bit of slap to make me feel good. What the heck are these idiots thinking ......

MimosaSunrise · 06/09/2022 19:57

I saw what is presumably a companion ad to this the other day - ‘Exercise for Seniors’, with 45-50 being the first category.

At 42 I’ve only been middle-aged five minutes and now I find I’m hurtling headlong towards being a ‘senior’.

NCHammer2022 · 05/09/2022 17:25

I don’t know, but 65+ looks like she’s living her best life so I’m looking forward to that stage!

Exactly, I'd rather look like her!

browneyes77 · 06/09/2022 20:10

I turned 45 last Friday.

Where do I order my walking stick? 🤣🤣

youcantry · 06/09/2022 20:13

Brilliant - first time I'm glad I'm 51 and not 49!

CaptainKremmen · 06/09/2022 20:14

Marks & Spencer seem to think so

Ihatemyroad · 06/09/2022 20:23

At 45 I was pregnant so definitely didn’t look like that!

tommyhoundmum · 06/09/2022 20:27

I'm 75 and don't look like any of these characters

anon666 · 06/09/2022 20:57

Good grief, gave they labelled the ages wrong? 🤔

I say this now actually quite worried about the stick because at 48 my mobility has taken a hammering since 45 with joint pain, aching and slowing down. 😓

Sarahbumdaa · 06/09/2022 20:58

Hahahahah this is soo funny cant wait to be 65 and walk around with a cat under my arm all day long. And why is it saying 10 minutes walk I dont get it. I walk about 5 miles a day and I do dancing im 53

SommerTen · 06/09/2022 21:04

Oh dear I'm 46 and got hip issues which are really getting worse, seeing a physio next week, meanwhile I've got pain on walking upstairs and lying down.. All I need is a beret and for my cat to stay tucked under my arm then I too will be like the cartoon ladies...

anon666 · 06/09/2022 21:05

On reflection I'm quite liking some of these looks.

And more importantly, I prefer that to the body fascism that men over 45 are up against. 😲

bluetongue · 06/09/2022 21:06

The main thing I’ve got from this thread is that at 46 it’s okay for me to continue to wear skinny jeans. Please tell me it’s true. I’m short and would look ridiculous in those baggy jeans the young ‘uns are wearing these days.

YesitsBess · 06/09/2022 21:25

@bluetongue I guarantee that if what you wear is making you feel happy and confident then you look fucking superb in whatever it is.

Harls1969 · 06/09/2022 21:45

I'm 54 and have never worn a beret

Fizbosshoes · 06/09/2022 21:45

I shared the graphic with my 16 year old DD and she thought it was hilarious, then she showed me this one, that she came across today! 🤣

Is this what women over 45 look like?
Troublewithtribbles · 06/09/2022 21:58

Blimey I don’t have a beret and I’m doing 9 fitness classes a week on average. How am I still possibly still functioning? Plus I already have a cat. I need to instantly cease and desist- obvs 🙄

Circular · 07/09/2022 07:49

Hope not.
I’m in the 60-65 bracket, still working full time and walking 4 or 5 miles most days.
Live cats though, so more than happy to morph into a mad cat lady 😂
