Disney Plus doing Jilly Cooper's Rivals

This is just the best news. I've been waiting for an adaptation of Rivals since I first fell in love with the bounder Rupert C-B in circa 1997.

But the question is who will play him? I can't think of anyone off the top of my head who can fill those boots - any suggestions?

Judging from the press release, it does look like they are dropping all episodes on the 18th.
I'm going to have to exercise some self restraint.

Completely agree - I'm in the process of re-reading all the Rutshire Chronicles and Rupert (and then Tabitha's) blondness & blue eyes are constantly referenced....I have a clear image of Rupert in my mind and he is not it!

If you're in the US, all episodes will be aired on Hulu from the 18th. I have some surgery scheduled on the 16th so I guess I know what I'm doing that weekend. So it worked out for me lol

I am not in the US, I am as far away from the UK as you can get without coming back again....

I guess it will depend then on whether you have access to Disney+ or not. I thought they were in most markets bar China, and if you are that far flung, I presume you have a VPN?

Very positive from the Guardian! I'm gutted it's being released all at once as I have absolutely no self control, and having waited for this for two years (well, more like 25 years) I just know I'll end up having watched them all by the early hours of the 19th 😬
