Disney Plus doing Jilly Cooper's Rivals

This is just the best news. I've been waiting for an adaptation of Rivals since I first fell in love with the bounder Rupert C-B in circa 1997.

But the question is who will play him? I can't think of anyone off the top of my head who can fill those boots - any suggestions?

Does anyone remember the old adaptation?
There was a scene that made dh and me HOWL laughing. Rupert in bed with Janey and she says " you bastard, you absolutely bastard" and he responds " you slut, you absolute slut"....all in super posh english accents and awful acting....

Years later we still quote it at each other 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Do you think Richard Madden would be able to do the accent? He could certainly pull off the gorgeous bastard part. Can he ride a horse though?

Joel Kinnaman would be perfect, although I've only heard him do an American accent (he's Swedish).
