When you blow a raspberry

Does the blown air go above or below your tongue?

For years I thought it was the same for everyone, but it turns out it's not, and I'm curious as to whether it's me or them that's the odd one, or if it's fairly well mixed.

Below. Unless I'm parping the cat's belly then just my lips. Yes. The weird creature likes it and will flump on his back looking at me expectingly until I do it.

Above for me, below for DH. Yes we are both sitting here blowing raspberries. DS refuses to join in but he IS doing a fab eye roll.

Both ways, to make different noises, below is louder and higher, above is lower pitch and 'spittier'

Oh I'm not disputing that you can make a similar noise - but part of the joy of blowing a raspberry is that you stick out your tongue to do it. It's supposed to be a cheeky action, and the tongue plays a part in that 😜

Under and sort of at the sides too. (For a really good one.)
BTW, did many of you know that the term 'a raspberry' comes from cockney rhyming slang -- i.e. a raspberry tart?
