What do I need in Ikea tomorrow?

I'm off to Ikea with a mate tomorrow, (she needs to pick up something). I already have a small shopping list but please help me with anything you think I might just need to chuck in my blue bag ...

  • Different size zip lock bags
  • Couple of pot plants for my desk at work
  • Laundry basket (£3 one, fits into gap in PAX wardrobe)
  • Big zip up bag (like the blue ones but a clear one, great for moving laundry from the machine to the washing line and back)
  • A big curtain for by the front door for the winter
  • Gingerbread biscuits

I'm fine for tealight candles, have no room in the freezer for meatballs, I don't really do picture frames and have plenty of cushions and blankets. What other useful stuff have you found there recently that I might need or have you found anything that looks particularly useful for the upcoming winter of doom? Thanks in advance :)

Those yellow handled scissors!
Excellent and sharp, only 75p (were 50p until recently, but still a bargain despite 50% price hike)

ParasiticMicrowasp · 23/08/2022 20:51

Sharks. They sell sharks.

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 23/08/2022 20:51

A garlic crusher. The sturdy IKEA one is the only one worth bothering with, imho.

WillWorkForShoes · 23/08/2022 20:56

That Tupperware with a green lid. Loads of useful sizes of bottoms, which don’t always match with the lids!

Forget my scissor suggestion, get a shark!

Violettaa · 23/08/2022 20:59

Freezer bag clips

dodobookends · 23/08/2022 21:03

I want a shark now!!

BastardtheCat · 23/08/2022 21:03

Mini dime bars. Food of the Gods.

2 smaller pax mesh baskets - I need them to complete my wardrobe set up. Deliver them to me (and copious bags of mini Dimes) in Swansea.

Ta muchly 👍

I'm going of to Cardiff week after next, so I'll drop some Daims round yours on the way back... if I don't eat them all in the car!

cutmyteethandbitmytongue · 23/08/2022 21:07

A socktopus. No wait, two.

Rinatinabina · 23/08/2022 21:10

Those sealing clips, really useful.

ChonkyDonkey · 23/08/2022 21:11

www.ikea.com/gb/en/p/variera-pot-lid-organiser-stainless-steel-70154800/

It's a pot lid organiser but I use mine for baking trays.

Footle · 23/08/2022 21:13

That garlic crusher. I hope they start making a larger one as well.

hedgehogger1 · 23/08/2022 21:14

The little shelves for in your kitchen cupboards to make it easier to find things :)

Dilbertian · 23/08/2022 21:14

The cucumber condom. It's one of a set of stretchy silicone covers, called Overmat IIRC. Buy all sizes. Incredibly useful for jars and bowls, as well as cut veg.

CuriositysCat · 23/08/2022 21:17

We have the shark. His name is Keith.

Yasss gal!

While you're there, I need my airing cupboard sorting. Don't suppose you can pick me up another Pax system?!

ParasiticMicrowasp · 23/08/2022 21:22

It is honestly my mission in life to spread the good news of The Shark and bring Him to as many homes as possible. I have two of Him.

legophoenix · 23/08/2022 21:23

Salted licorice 🤤

ProudThrilledHappy · 23/08/2022 21:29

Seconding the socktopus, honestly one of the most useful random things I have picked up in there

OhWhatFuckeryIsThisNow · 23/08/2022 21:32

We went today for the first time in about 15 years. Dd had a list, we had a limited time and I missed out on a good mooch. Mind the car was like jenga. But now I want all these things. Except a shark. He was lovely but he’s a bit big. But did you see the brontosaurus?

Jumprope309 · 23/08/2022 21:32

Cinnamon buns, obviously

confusedlots · 23/08/2022 21:32

Stock up on all different sizes of zip lock bags. And the round tupperware with lid which is a perfect size for taking some pasta to work. And the tray of paints for kids if you have children
