I’m on my period and it’s so heavy and painful I’m lying here feeling like a bag of rubbish that’s been run over and left in the heat 😭

What nice things have happened to you recently? What is a small lovely thing you’ve done? I need some wholesomeness right now!

Sorry you feel horrid.

I'm eating a mini Magnum in my knickers.

I just want to say that I put up with crap periods for years because I thought that was what I had to do, but since having the coil, no more periods. Perfect. I can’t believe that I put up with not being able to go out on my first day or two for years !
Anyhow, I’ve not done nothing nice at all, I’m thoroughly pissed off and bore thinking that there must be more to life than this 🤷🏼‍♀️
However, I did enjoy walking the dog at 7am when it was pretty chilly and I only saw 1 other person.

Maireas · 13/08/2022 14:41

My elderly neighbour isn't great with the heat, we have an ice maker so I've taken her a massive bag of ice!

BlueKaftan · 13/08/2022 14:42

I’m re-reading Peter Mayle’s lovely book, A Year in Provence. All of books are funny and wholesome.

SkyRanger · 13/08/2022 14:42

Im pregnant and we can just see the baby kicking and everytime DS (18m) sees my belly move he has a fit of giggles which is the cutest thing.

Sorry you feel so rubbish, op Flowers

Maireas · 13/08/2022 14:42

I've also sorted out a massive bag of clothes for the charity shop. It's great to have a clear out, isn't it? Also to acknowledge I'll never fit into some items again 😥

troppibambini6 · 13/08/2022 14:44

I'm eating mussels and drinking beer looking out at a beautiful port in Spain.
Ignore the fact I'm with my 4 bickering kids Wink

I've just started to get results from doing a Footner and they're magnificent

Hope you're feeling better soon

@KangarooKenny I have back-to-backed pill packets and then had a horrible period at the end of it so it’s really my fault. It was for holiday convenience but never again, it’s not usually this bad! Is it the heat making you feel that way? I’ve definitely felt bored and restless and limited in what I can do the past few days.
@Maireas That’s lovely of you! Also clear outs are great, I popped to the charity shops this morning before I started feeling crap and found some nice trousers as well as some books for my classroom reading corner 😊

That does sound rubbish! Heavy periods are just the worst.

We had the most wonderful night yesterday evening. Gorgeous sunset like Tony Hart had been out with his pastels. Me and himself sat on the beach path watching the last of the light fading and then seeing a huge moon rise and the stars come out. We saw two bats hunting and they were swooping past us on the path. Back home we pulled up some chairs and cushions in the back garden and watched the Perseids. I saw two proper shooting stars before calling it a night. Magical. Wish every evening was like that!!!

I finished with my DP two weeks ago after 4 years together.
It's a bit shit so I'm going to my best friends house tonight to stay over, she's making me her incredible spinach lasagne as it's my absolute favourite.
We will eat that and then spend the night discussing all his failings and how I was always too good for him anyway 😂

dolphinsarentcommon · 13/08/2022 14:52

You need chocolate from the fridge, a glass of something chilled and your feet up OP Flowers

I've got a friends puppy here as she was a bit worried leaving him in this heat. He's gorgeous but I'm resisting cuddles and letting him snooze on the cool kitchen tiles.

I feel ok to be honest.
I thought I'd feel more sad but he truly was a dickhead so my overriding emotion is relief x
Have you tried femicon? They work wonders for my dd x

I have some in my bathroom cabinet but am too scared to use them - are they really that great?

I felt the same after my breakup over Christmas. Sad that it ended up like it did but relieved and ready for a new life. 💐 I haven’t! I have heard it’s good. I’ve had some more ibuprofen, and I’m starting to feel a bit better thankfully.

I was in the local Tesco express yesterday, in the queue for batteries.
Old guy at the front was obviously and very visibly down on his luck and clearly not living well.
He was trying to buy a cheap sandwich and a can of coke, holding out a handful of shrapnel for the cashier.
After counting it she regrettably told him he didn't have enough for both, but did have enough for either item.
The old man looked really confused about what to do next.
Quick as a flash the man behind him stepped forward and gently said to him "hey my friend, we all need a helping hand sometimes, let's get ourselves a meal deal, I know you'd do the same for someone else".
The old man was shocked but really grateful.
They both went to the chiller cabinet at the side and picked some stuff, and he paid for it all at the self service and they left.
On my way out I saw them both sitting on the low wall eating sandwiches in the sunshine, smiling like they were sharing a joke.

It was such a nice moment I had an unexpected little cry as I drove off.

The world just isn't totally shit.
There are really good people everywhere and they walk amongst us.

It is truly amazing although, you must resist the urge to pick or pull!

My family were suitable disgusted with my snake feet so that was a bonus Smile
