Stupid, inspiring, funny .... what ever it was, what is your most memorable comment on MN.

Mine was a poster who said her grandma once told her the secret to a successful marriage is "don't both fall out of love at the same time"

☝️ has stuck with me

OP posts:

A thread in the Litter Tray section about the things devoted cat owners did for the cats. Special food, special seats, getting up at 3am to let them out/ in - all pretty standard stuff. Then one poster said that when her cat brought a dead mouse/ bird, she or her husband picked it up, held it up to their mouths, and pretended to eat it, so the cat wouldn’t be upset by the humans rejecting her ‘gifts’ 😮

She seemed to think it was perfectly normal, and was surprised that other devoted cat owners didn’t agree!

@Maireas oh yeah they crack me up. As if the world is going to be ending because of zombies, war, asteroids & you will be browsing your pantry thinking what shall I cook!

😂😂😂
"We're leaving the EU, what shall I add to my bunker?"

DancingUnderTheLights · 22/07/2022 10:30

The one that is in my mind at the moment was the thread about people being inappropriate around death and someone said a child at a funeral had asked "are they going to burn grandad now?" lol

HotSauceCommittee · 22/07/2022 10:33

"We laughed all the way to Birdland"

An OP who moved house and her toddler said he couldn't sleep in his new room because, he 'missed the old grey haired man who used to smile at him every night through his bedroom window!!' 😱😱

A couple of months later they were visiting their old home town, when the toddler shouted excitedly "THERE HE IS! THE KIND OLD MAN!"

It turned out to be Colonel Sanders on an illuminated KFC sign in the distance. He could see him from his old bedroom window 😂

Excellent 🤣

I'm an oldie with a name change after being missing for a good few years.
I will always hold onto the advice "no, is a full sentence".
When someone asks you to do something you don't want to do, just say no. You do not have to justify yourself.

Yeah...if you want to look rude and a bit odd with no social awareness....

Picture the scene. A friend is going to be late to pick her child up from school (the same school your child goes to) and asks if you can pick her up and she can collect from your house (which is a couple of doors away) in the next hour.

You just simply reply "No"

Doesn't really work.

This is real life not some silly self-care book.

MintyGreenDreams · 22/07/2022 10:50

The susie quatros fat nan comment was hilarious

theemmadilemma · 22/07/2022 10:56

'Your minge' has just made me cry again.

Squiff70 · 22/07/2022 11:00

I never found the 'snapped and farted' thread funny either. Also I thought the 'doing the T-Rex in Asda' was just plain weird and equally not funny. That said, I read most of the Sistine Chapel screamer thread and quite frankly found the whole thing bizarre and embarrassing. I didn't even laugh.

IABU?

sadeyedladyofthelowlandsea · 21/07/2022 23:42

'Off you fuck then, cuntychops.'

Omg yes this was brilliant!

SarahWoodruff · 22/07/2022 11:14

On a thread about weird Satanist goings on in a wood...it was something like "we are mostly frazzled pre-menopausal women who spent the last week debating a changing bag in a charity shop. The chances of us having insider knowledge of black magic are quite slim". Wonderful.

Goesbothways · 22/07/2022 11:16

Maybe @Squiff70, but if you are I am too.

SleepingAgent · 22/07/2022 11:20

Thanks so much for all these memories. Elderly Korean lady was superb!

I didn’t find snapped and farted funny at all and I’m surprised how popular that thread was.

Yeah me too re S & F. It was mildly amusing at best and not a patch on some of the classics from years ago.

And penis beaker went "viral" on other media sites and brought a load of twatty posters, MRA's and trolls to Mumsnet so I loathe it for that reason.

JustSmallFry · 22/07/2022 11:29

There was a post at one point that talked about the post-sex "cum run"

StaunchMomma · 22/07/2022 11:36

LydiaBennetsUglyBonnet · 21/07/2022 22:55

There’s one today that I think may be my all time favourite, by a poster on her theory as to why she has no schoolgate mum friends:

I had the unfortunate circumstances of being a tall attractive woman with a ‘posh’ accent in a deprived area, (no my name is not Samantha), a very handsome husband (yes, one small example was a school mum saying loudly she wouldn’t mind a bit of him as she walked past us), twins (which some of them were obviously jealous of), my DC all being gorgeous, immaculately turned out and doing well at school if I say so myself.

😂😂😂😂

She'll be here in a few mins to tell you you're clearly 'jealous' of her 😂

OhWhatFuckeryIsThisNow · 22/07/2022 11:53

On the Sex board re the topic of fisting. 😮The best typo ever was something like “with care and time it’s easy to get a Fiat up your vag”
It was comedy gold that thread. Apparently the best way to do it is to make a duck Bill shape with your hand. 😆

mimi14 · 22/07/2022 11:56

Snapped and farted

Balonz

TheMullerLightOwl · 22/07/2022 11:58

That's the inspiration for my username!

My personal favourite will always be "I have IBS" as a response to people asking the OP what the typo was supposed to be on the snapped and farted thread!

rightonthyme · 22/07/2022 12:00

Savaged min-min was beautifully written :D

Pruella · 22/07/2022 12:05

One poster said she hates it when people who work in offices keep their lanyards on while out for their lunch break. She considers it showing off and felt that the office people do it deliberately to lord it over those who work in shops.

LoveLarry · 22/07/2022 12:13

Those asking about the I'm a Canadian

It was, I think, StewieGriffinsMom after another poster was trying to preach to her about what would happen in Canada, as if she wouldn't know

ArmWrestlingWithChasNDave · 22/07/2022 12:17

Probably when Crumbs posted a picture of a Paris hotel room and claimed it was her bedroom, then was finally outed as a liar and fantasist. But it was much less amusing when MNHQ allowed her to name change and continue trolling.
