Stupid, inspiring, funny .... what ever it was, what is your most memorable comment on MN.

Mine was a poster who said her grandma once told her the secret to a successful marriage is "don't both fall out of love at the same time"

☝️ has stuck with me

OP posts:

@RosalindsAFuckingNightmare brilliant 😂😂😂😂

dudsville · 22/07/2022 07:44

I am Angela Hernandez never fails to make me giggle, and omg that clothing expectations vs reality thread! I frequently think back to that. I was reading it on a quiet commuter bus and kind of squeaking as I tried to stifle my laughter. I must look it up. I can't remember it well enough to deliver it with the respect it deserves but one woman described how turtle necks made her look like some kind of dinosaur that was about to unfurl its neck thingamajig.

Musmerian · 22/07/2022 07:50

@SpottyStripyDuvet - I remember that thread. It was brilliant. Someone else said that their new haircut made them look like a match.

Squiff70 · 22/07/2022 07:55

I just remembered another.

The woman who had a sudden attack of diarrhoea whilst on a date. She scuttled off to the ladies and when she returned, her date said "Darling are you alright, only you smell faintly of botty?".

DrBlackbird · 22/07/2022 08:00

Someone please tell me about the I AM A CANADIAN… so intrigued.

Elfsumflowerpig · 22/07/2022 08:14

'Drink SLURM.
SLURM tastes good. It's healthy and cheap!
DRINK SLURM, ALL DAY.
(Drink Slurm)'

From the Dentinox thread by the the much-missed Bruxeur. That thread would get zapped nowadays.

pinklillie · 22/07/2022 08:14

@Furries that one was so funny. Every time I took my little one to the Drs I ended up thinking about it and how embarrassed she must have been Grin

The snapped and farted line was just so out of context with everything else she was saying. That's what made me laugh it was all so serious.

EmbroidedFlowers · 22/07/2022 08:34

"I'm so sorry Alan"

DottyLittleRainbow · 22/07/2022 08:44

seramu · 21/07/2022 23:57

@DottyLittleRainbow

You beat me to it with the penis beaker. If I recall rightly didn't she think the penis washing pot was an entirely normal thing to do, and was totally bemused that others don't ensure their DHs had a clean penis for sex?

It was a post-sex cleanup beaker 😂😂😂

I was coming on to say this. Makes me laugh thinking about it now

Me too, I seem to have missed that one.

“I’m so sorry Alan” for me too.

PuckeredArseFace · 22/07/2022 09:28

So many...
The lady who saw a bloke she had a crush on in her local supermarket. She wanted to avoid him as she didn't think she was 'dressed' enough so she did the on sensible thing
She pretended to fall asleep on the floor in the middle of the shop
Fucking brilliant 😂

"I'm so sorry Alan"

Ooh, what was this about?

PuckeredArseFace · 22/07/2022 09:44

Posters mum was being carted off in an ambulance @KatherineJaneway , I think it was quite serious from what I remember and she farted? whilst being loaded, Alan was the paramedics name
I haven't done it justice but it was very funny

Georgeskitchen · 22/07/2022 09:44

Keep reading about "snapped and farted" bit before my time.
Can anyone give a hint?

LydiaBennetsUglyBonnet · 22/07/2022 09:44

I didn’t find snapped and farted funny at all and I’m surprised how popular that thread was.

My memory is a bit hazy, but I think what made it even funnier was that his name wasn’t Alan!

PuckeredArseFace · 22/07/2022 09:52

Possibly @Furries , it was just in all the chaos, doom & gloom, she remembered her manners
Class

coolernow · 22/07/2022 09:55

@PuckeredArseFace 🤣🤣

EmbroidedFlowers · 22/07/2022 10:00

@KatherineJaneway @PuckeredArseFace @Furries
I found the comment! On the thread 'I pooed on my skirt at work today'😂

ShatnersBassoon ·
Just remembered I have a flatulent mother story.

My mum had had a pretty awful stomach bug when stopping at our house, and ended up collapsing. We called an ambulance, and when they arrived, she was conscious but confused and retching into a washing up bowl. With every retch, she was releasing Tommy Squealers and after every one she said to the ambulance man "I'm so sorry Alan". We have no idea what the man's name was, but the chances of it being Alan are extremely slim Grin

Ncfreely · 22/07/2022 10:00

Recently on a post the OP talked about something happening “four years ago” and someone scolded them for saying that the timeframe had to be with defence to the pandemic I.e. “two years post pandemic”. Batshit 😂

Maireas · 22/07/2022 10:01

Sometimes those prepper threads are entertaining.
Before covid, there was anxiety about Brexit - the moment we left the EU we'd have no bread, water, gas, ciabatta or olives or whatever.
Anyway, one poster said she'd been stockpiling cigarettes and miniature whisky bottles to trade for food! I wonder if she still has them in her cupboards......

Maireas · 22/07/2022 10:04

There was another hilarious one where a woman only had white flowers in her garden. A friend gave her a pot with a pale pink rose, what should she do?
I thought if that's your problem, love, you're a lucky person!

Littleraindrop15 · 22/07/2022 10:09

this is going back a good 4 years I think I don't know if anyone remembers the thread where the OP was screaming and crying at the sistine Chapel in Italy because she was so emotional and her husband was super embarrassed.

that whole thread was hilarious 😂
