Totally understand if you got health conditions or burn or got small kids

However, I'm in North. It's v hot. I'm ok. No moaning. I can sleep. Can't get over all the drama and moaning about the heat!
Feel like im a lone voice!

You're in the north, it's not as hot.

Planetearthisscrewed · 19/07/2022 22:08

Guessing you didn't have 40 degrees and fires burning down your house then?

NotMyDayJob · 19/07/2022 22:08

I'm in the north, it's still really bloody hot. Where are you? Shetland?

TemperTrap · 19/07/2022 22:09

Are you happy with the fires around London and the midlands?
The excess deaths we will no doubt see?
Good for you that you enjoy it but there are many that don't. Even people I know that love the sun have really suffered.

Why you felt the need to start a goady thread is beyond me. Bored, trolling or just smug?

It's been very hot up north. Hotter than a lot of the south.

EmmaH2022 · 19/07/2022 22:10

What's the temp? 30 is bad enough in London, 40 is bleuugh.

LondonLovie · 19/07/2022 22:11

Sure. Let the world bask in totally abnormal temperatures.. few wild fires here and there etc etc .. but as long as you are okay it doesn't matter.

Carry on Mumsnet nothing to see here OP is loving a 40 degree summer

Hottest place today - Lincolnshire
Hottest overnight - Yorkshire

RaininSummer · 19/07/2022 22:12

Been ok here in Devon. Kind of how summer should be. However parts of the country have been horrendous so really feel for them.

Whatelsecouldibecalled · 19/07/2022 22:12

Yes you are. I'm in the 'north' it's been 41
Today. That's bloody hot!

aSofaNearYou · 19/07/2022 22:12

How are you in the cold?

Might not be you but a lot of people that call out "drama" about hot weather are equally dramatic when they feel cold.

People just like and dislike different things.

Theworldisfullofgs · 19/07/2022 22:13

Yep, you are.

BewareTheBeardedDragon · 19/07/2022 22:13

5 confirmed wild swimming deaths so far. But as long as some people are enjoying it - all good.

The whole of the UK revolves around London, OP. Didn't you get the memo?

carefullycourageous · 19/07/2022 22:16

You sound like you don't really get why people are upset. I could cope with the heat but am upset that climate change is hitting us sooner and harder than we predicted. I am upset that people just think it is 'lovely weather' when what it really is is very serious and will see our kids living a really tough life.

BoredatHome321 · 19/07/2022 22:17

@ccrabbitmaw what's London got to do with anything?

EmmaH2022 · 19/07/2022 22:17

@ccrabbitmaw what's London got to do with anything?

I was just puzzling over that myself.

Pegasushaswings · 19/07/2022 22:17

Yes 😅 I’m by the coast and it’s boiling

Abouttimemum · 19/07/2022 22:18

I’m in the north, i could barely breathe working at home today. Absolutely stifling indoors and outdoors.
But I do agree that we are really massively dramatic about any sort of vaguely extreme weather. Mainly via the media. It’s because we just aren’t equipped for it as a country.
Climate change will ruin us - can’t deal with extreme cold, extreme heat, extreme rainfall. Ugh.

NashvilleQueen · 19/07/2022 22:20

38 in my bit of the north. It's fine for me because I worked from and didn't have to leave the house. But it was too hot in the garden and no breeze. It's not normal weather and that should prompt questions about what we are doing to the planet. It's not just about enjoying a bit of sunshine and it's ignorant to suggest otherwise

bellac11 · 19/07/2022 22:21

im in the south. I also hate it, but loads of my colleagues were loving it and couldnt wait to get home from work!!

I was the lone voice of hate at work!!!

hugoagogo · 19/07/2022 22:22

Yes

Sweatingmytiitsoff · 19/07/2022 22:24

Have you actually walked outside today OP?

And how many have been started by humans.....

Yodaisawally · 19/07/2022 22:32

Here's your 🥇you hero.

It was 101 in my wfh 'office from 2 onwards. I grew up in the ME. I love the heat. I don't love that.
