NHS dentists are almost non existant now and the ones that do, have massive waiting lists.

Kemi doesn’t need an NHS dentist. She could afford a private appointment tomorrow.

PurpleDaisies · 15/07/2022 20:48

That tooth thing is just bollocks. Utter nonsense. Dentists are seeing people and have been for ages.

You'd struggle to see one in this city, even privately

SpindleInTheWind · 15/07/2022 21:05

Oh god, patronising from the get-go.

Here there is eben a wait for private appointments at the moment

I wonder what the Labour front bench thought of that? Probably a lot of chatter on their Whats App group and commenting on the economics of their plans

Having once sat in a room with two Labour MPs and one Tory one, I imagine the Labour WhatsApp is just taking the piss out of the Tories as that’s pretty much all they did that day.

springsally · 15/07/2022 21:06

Penny came across very condescending and didn't smile once. Didn't like her at all. Liz Truss was very wooden.

There are no NHS dentist appointments in my city. Dental emergencies are being farmed out to the next county - absolute emergencies only, like sepsis risks. It's atrocious.

stillherenow · 15/07/2022 21:07

Kemi vs Rishi in final 2 would be interesting.

I'm a bit worried it might be Penny still though as Liz needed to do well to beat her , and she flatlined

Truss - no 0/10
Penny - I want to like her but I’ve heard she’s not too sure what a woman is. 3/10
Kemi - I really want to like her. Seems more personable and less of a political robot, but her money tree spiel pissed me right off. There is a magical money tree for all their mates in big business who you offer tax cuts to. 4/10
Sunak - The damage is done and he’s a smarmy creep with his ‘I love my kids so I love the environment. I love the NHS. I love tax cuts’. He’d get on well with Peter Andre. 2/10
Tom - I was reading the positive comments on here about him and got excited to watch. Impression? He’s had too much training on public speaking and has come out the other side acting like a Hollywood heartthrob with ever such a sensitive side. Just ick all over. 2/10

MarshaBradyo · 15/07/2022 21:09

Kemi v Rishi would be great

wonder how they got the audience, I doubt some of the questioners have voted not just Labour

Kant · 15/07/2022 21:10

The main takeaway from tonight is that it's crystal-clear that none of these candidates should be anywhere near the office of PM.

Obviously, neither should BJ, but there we go.

Fucking dire.

MarshaBradyo · 15/07/2022 21:10

I thought Tom might do the Truman show tear to camera at one point but I was distracted at same time

stillherenow · 15/07/2022 21:11

I know people don't like Tony Blair - but he was amazing at stuff like this . His passion shone through. There was absolutely no passion tonight . I mean they're going for PRIME MINISTER!! It's like none of them really believe they will get it.

Doubt he's had much training. His previous life will have meant he has talked to large groups of people regularly. Probably more than any one rlse in the race.

Kemi needs to sort out her eye rolling. It isnt a good look at all.

I don't know. I think Blair was quite smarmy (even though I voted for him)

Cuck00soup · 15/07/2022 21:13

I mostly agree with your analysis Hudson. I'm not a Kemi fan as I don't like her politics, but she was less shit than the others.

Tom - I've been in the military and we have all the answers - can do one. I've worked with military twats who think they have all the answers to the NHS before and reader, they most certainly don't. NHS patients have this habit of not following commandments you see. It's terribly inconvenient when someone takes too long to die and their bed has already been allocated.

BirmaBrite · 15/07/2022 21:15

They all love their country

Just not madly keen on the much less privileged plebs who inhabit it, which is the vast majority of the population.

SpindleInTheWind · 15/07/2022 21:15

A lot of 'errs' and 'umms' from Fake Plummy Penny.

MarshaBradyo · 15/07/2022 21:15

I really don’t want Truss v Mordaunt

just a snoozy wash out

TravellingSpoon · 15/07/2022 21:16

Tom's answer to the NHS question was soundbite central with no actual substance.

You were in the army, we get it. But you are not any more and we need to move on to the job you want to be doing, not the job you did.

I want to like him but he seems to be missing a bit of oomph.

Londonderry34 · 15/07/2022 21:16

I know it's the wrong team but I just love Angela Raynor. Look at her standing up to all the Eton bully boys and holding her own. She is magnificent. Authentic and selfless. This is the kind of politician I want making policy.

I would have, had unknown it was on! Which channel
ess it? I'll see if there's a repeat.

was it any good?

whinfinyou hope gets it?

ehi would you really hate to get it??

Cheesecakeandwineinasuitcase · 15/07/2022 21:18

Kemi comes across well but I worry that she will make massive cuts to the public sector and schools after the comments she made about ‘superfluous staff’ in schools. Tom seems very likeable but I think he lacks substance. Sunak is completely out of touch with the reality that many people are having to face in light of the cost of living crisis. Truss was well, meh. And I’m not sure how I feel about Penny. I really liked her to start with but now I’m really worried about her stance on womens rights.

brianixon · 15/07/2022 21:19

Larry the cat will be still in the race.
How did Penny become favourite she dodged questions so obviously.

XingMing · 15/07/2022 21:21

I don't think a right wing Tory can win, but a One Nation Tory might... just. So it's Tom all the way. IM unimportant judgement, he is just about on the money. If not PM, then definitely Foreign Secretary.
