As the title says!

I really like her. She's straight-talking, has had a real job, isn't slagging everyone else off, and has clearly worked for everything she has.

The only downside for me would be her lack of politics experience. But I'm sure she could hire the right people to help her if she became PM.

OP posts:

Isn’t she the one who wants to scrap TAs and extra curricular school stuff? And supports the deportation of refugees to Rwanda?

QuebecBagnet · 15/07/2022 13:17

And what real job? Flipping burgers as a student for a while between leaving private school and working at The Spectator? I agree she comes across as ok when she talks. Maybe the best out of them. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Still a right wing Tory

Tegelflughafen · 15/07/2022 13:24

Hasn’t there been a thread already on how amazing she is ?

luckylavender · 15/07/2022 13:32

She has some very dangerous ideas

Theoneinthemiddle · 15/07/2022 13:35

Don’t know much about her- ahe seems good though.

NightmareSlashDelightful · 15/07/2022 13:36

I think she's almost tied-on to be the next Home Secretary.

lifeturnsonadime · 15/07/2022 13:36

Dreadful.

Race to the bottom.

Absolute nightmare for families with children with additional needs as she doesn't think that schools should have any 'superfluous staff' yet doesn't appear to be advocating for additional SEN Schools either.

Only redeeming feature is that she knows what a woman is but as a parent of SEN children I think that she will do more harm to children than good.

PermanentTemporary · 15/07/2022 13:37

She's a hard right-wing Tory with a personal nasty streak. I think she might be quite an effective PM, she's a lot stronger than Johnson, but she'll be effective achieving goals i disagree with.

Does she? How can you become a politician and not realise that investment in education, health and policing are the basics for a good society. I really despair.

MotherOfRatios · 15/07/2022 13:41

She's not the best for Black or poc people she is another Priti Patel

Her comments surrounding critical race theory and colonialism are worrying

Suedomin · 15/07/2022 13:44

I think she is terrible. She is extremely right wing.
She has said that schools should save money by getting rid of superfluous support staff and should stop doing unecesesarry activities. She doesn't say what she means by superfluous or unnecessary, but it's a nonsense to think any schools have enough money to do anything except the necessary!
She also wants to scrap the online safety bill as she said we shouldn't legislate for hurt feelings.
Also when she was a student she hacked into a labour politicians computer to make it appear as though the politician had praised the conservative party.

BoJoGoGoGo · 15/07/2022 13:44

Nasty - she disagrees with cost of living and winter fuel payments. She thinks that TAs are superfluous and supports the Rwanda policy. She is a typical right wing hard nosed tory.

itsgettingweird · 15/07/2022 13:49

She wants to ruin the future generation of workforce. The generation they say need to be nightly skilled will have

"No superfluous support staff or peripheral activities" under her watch.

No Thankyou.

I don't like any of them except Tugenhat and I'm glad Braverman and her hatred for welfare have been kicked out.

She also needs to go and take her ideas to damage the future generation of this counties workforce and mental health with her!

QuattroFromagio · 15/07/2022 13:51

No, she's awful - listen to her campaign video.

very very hard-nosed right-wing views. Teaching should be whole-class teaching, none of this support for small groups, intervention, TAs, extra-curricular activities, etc. Vulnerable people should just toughen up and get on with things the way she has and they'd be fine.

Numbat2022 · 15/07/2022 13:55

She's extremely right-wing and had a privileged upbringing, just like the rest of them.

And the idea that schools have spare money to be saved is utterly laughable.

Lonelycrab · 15/07/2022 13:57

She's a hard right-wing Tory with a personal nasty streak

Pretty much this. The more I’m learning about her the more worried I’m getting. Hope she’s next one out.

WoolyMammoth55 · 15/07/2022 13:59

On schools, her line about "no superfluous support staff or peripheral activities" honestly gives me chills.

My DCs are in a state school and they are cut to the bone as it is. Losing brilliant teachers due to massive workload, relatively low pay and crushing load of admin.

This inexperienced, ignorant person deciding the problem with schools is superfluous staff! As if. Ugh.

TheLeadbetterLife · 15/07/2022 14:00

Apparently she's just a stalking horse for Rishi Sunak, probably not worth thinking about her as a serious contender.

This. She was on LBC yesterday evening, claiming that she does not see colour.Hmm Sounds like another lying Tory to me.

GreenAxolotl · 15/07/2022 14:05

Is this going to be another of those Kemi Badenoch threads where the OP never returns?

AssignedSlytherinAtBirth · 15/07/2022 14:05

Gove supports her, weirdly. I mean, I found it weird that it was her he singled out for praise rather than any of the others. He called her 'talented'. But he must know that she wouldn't win against Sunak or Mordant so maybe is a 'safe' choice to support.

itsgettingweird · 15/07/2022 14:13

Did she really lady?

Now that's very interesting because if a white person says that they are accused of being racist.

I get the wording isn't great but we all know what is meant by it.

Topseyt123 · 15/07/2022 14:15

She's awful. She's my MP too, more's the pity.

She wants to cut schools' non-existent budgets still further and will remove staff who support those with SEN because they are superfluous.

Why the fuck are there multiple threads daily on here singing her praises? I've always found MN to be slightly left leaning. Kemi Badenoch is very right leaning but people seem to be trumpeting about her as though she is the eighth wonder of the world. It's bizarre.

CredibilityProblem · 15/07/2022 14:15

Very dodgy on climate change.

Numbat2022 · 15/07/2022 14:16

@Topseyt123 I have a strong suspicion her PR see Mumsnet as a good place to campaign...
