Just that really.

Just don't comment? How bloody ridiculous. I'm not allowed to comment on threads or say anything because it may offend.

My comment was actually fine. You're the one with the problem. I'm not allowed to mention some people may have additional needs? Or maybe I'm also not allowed to comment acknowledging people have other cultural experiences to me or other sexual orientations. You seriously need to get a grip.

Here is my comment: people who shower weekly are grim. Now knock yourself out complaining at me that I've not considered some people have valid reasons for not showering as often as I do.

Shower(wash all over) every day, if not well have a sink wash with flannels oh and with a bar of soap and a shower puff .

AdelaideRo · 15/07/2022 17:59

Most days. If I go to they gym / exercise I always shower afterwards

I start work very early and don't always shower before heading off to work but I usually shower in the mornings at weekends/ wfh days.

grapehyacinthisactuallyblue · 15/07/2022 18:07

I have a bath every night. Take shower in the morning sometimes too, but bath is a must for me.

tillytoodles1 · 15/07/2022 18:14

I'm post menopausal, and honestly a shower every other day or so keeps me fresh as I hardly sweat now. I give my underarms and my nethers a quick wash once a day but thats it.

I told my daughter who showers daily, just to make sure, and she said honestly mum, you never smell, I'd tell you if you did.

I meant don't comment on other people's fucking cleaning habits. I have no problem. It's not me that obsesses over how many times someone washes their arse a week.

And also people don't need a valid reason to not shower everyday. Why the fuck should they?!

BMW6 · 15/07/2022 19:28

As often as I wash my sheets and towels. Twice a year without fail. Whether need it or not.

RobertsRadio · 15/07/2022 19:55

I only shower before sex.
I haven't been shagged since 1985.

colouringfoxes · 15/07/2022 20:03

Roughly every five days or once a week, depending on my pain levels and energy. I try to do a sink wash morning and evening, but often end up using wetwipes in bed instead, and once a fortnight or so I have an episode where I'm too ill to change out of my pyjamas at all for 36 hours plus (usually manage to wipe over bits and pits)

So sorry. Life can be so utterly shit

elephantmarchingin · 15/07/2022 20:09

Shower every evening.

DH showers 2x a week normally and washes at sink etc every day

colouringfoxes · 15/07/2022 20:09

It actually doesn't bother me as much as other things do, and yeah the days I can't change my clothes and wash I do feel a bit gross, but it's not like I'm going out and stinking all over people! Plus unless it's hot like atm I'm not sweating much to get smelly because I'm not moving either

Lulu1919 · 15/07/2022 20:12

Daily ..in the evening after I've cooked and eaten dinner,

allboysherebutme · 15/07/2022 21:04

At least once a day, mostly twice. X

Utterly shit. Can't even imagine how fed up you must get at times.

KangFang · 15/07/2022 21:48

Every morning.
I have greasy hair and I can smell my own body, if I don't.

LondonQueen · 15/07/2022 21:58

Daily in weather like this, every other day unless I've been active if not.

protoctist · 16/07/2022 02:05

HavfrueDenizKisi · 15/07/2022 07:03

Argh not this again. Here lies the Mumsnet competitive non washers saying they don't smell.

Shower daily. It's hardly difficult is it? 5 mins in and out if you're rushing.

I've said it before (disabilities and health issues aside) it's bloody grim washing once a week.

You must be a very smelly person, don't be tarring people with your own brush.

AnnieSnap · 16/07/2022 02:16

On the hour, every hour 🤷‍♀️ I really don’t get why there are so many threads asking this question!

Unless someone has physical or mental health issues which means they cannot wash then I do think a shower every day is important. I’ve just come back from a holiday at a seaside resort and honestly the amount of people we walked past that just stank, proper unwashed BO type smell. Absolutely disgusting. People just either don’t wash enough or don’t wash properly with soap / shower gel. Or clean their clothes enough. Or all of those things. It’s really horrible and I bet a lot of them think they don’t smell.

Actually, people with physical or mental health illness do keep themselves clean. 🙄

What's more, just because you think everyone should shower or bathe everyday, it doesn't mean that it's right for everyone. It's not necessarily good for your skin to shower or bathe every day.

Of course I know that - I’m not stupid, in fact I am one of those very disabled people who do wash / shower every day (I have lupus, Addison’s, asthma, etc and am on the highest rates of Pip indefinitely), and my son has autism and my dh has bipolar so I have a very good understanding of both physical and mental disabilities- my point was that SOME people with these issues do struggle to wash for various reasons and that is very different to someone who doesn’t have these issues and just can’t be bothered.

But it's not that people can't be bothered. Everyone is different and what is right for some won't be right for others. It's judgemental to say "everyone should shower every day, and if they don't, they smell".
