Just that really.

Every night before bed. If it's a gym day then those mornings too.

ohfook · 15/07/2022 06:19

I shower every day that I'm at work but don't tend to bother on my days off unless I'm off for a few days in a row (or on annual leave) then I will!

blebbleb · 15/07/2022 06:20

Morning and evening

10 times a day. I thought everybody did this?

I try to but sometimes it's a struggle to fit in 10 showers between changing and washing the (kingsize) bedding 3 times a day, cooking all meals from scratch, ignoring the phone and doorbell, browsing MN , drawing diagrams of when someone has parked in a mildly annoying manner, while working pt earning 95k.

KangarooKenny · 15/07/2022 06:47

Twice a day.

HavfrueDenizKisi · 15/07/2022 07:03

Argh not this again. Here lies the Mumsnet competitive non washers saying they don't smell.

Shower daily. It's hardly difficult is it? 5 mins in and out if you're rushing.

I've said it before (disabilities and health issues aside) it's bloody grim washing once a week.

Why isn't it grim for disabled people but it's grim for everyone else?

Theoldwoman · 15/07/2022 07:08

Strange question.

Morning and night.

Theoldwoman · 15/07/2022 07:10

No way would I skip showers to save on water and electricity.

HavfrueDenizKisi · 15/07/2022 07:13

Bloody hell you can't win. If I didn't mention some people with disabilities may find it difficult showering daily I get jumped on and if I do mention there could be physical factors that limit people jumping in a shower it's also a problem?? Christ. Overall I think in our day and age, where access to clean easy showers is pretty much standard, anyone who washes once a week is grim. They do smell and they look unwashed. That's my thoughts. I'm not surprised at the amount of people who say they don't wash much. After all in Australia they refer to an English Shower (spray of deodorant) all the time. Wonder where they got that idea from?

TooHotToTangoToo · 15/07/2022 07:31

I shower every day, wash my hair a few times a week, I bath now and again, as a luxury rather than a necessity

No but I just don't understand how it's grim and disgusting not to shower everyday and people must smell but then saying 'not disabled people'... Do we have some super power that makes us not grim? My dp and kids are grim as they mostly shower every other day, but no! Not me! My magic disabled powers mean I can't smell or be grim for showering the same as them.

Shoopitypoop · 15/07/2022 07:43

My neighbour swears blind they shower every morning and bath at night. The way they smell says otherwise.

Ylvamoon · 15/07/2022 07:44

Once a week or whatever I can't stand the old sweat stench anymore... and my hair every fortnight!

HMSSophia · 15/07/2022 07:46

Every couple of days.I do live alone though and don't work with others. When that had been the case, it was every day.

user1471538283 · 15/07/2022 07:48

I've always showered at least once a day. Even when I've been sick and it has taken ages I've still done it. It's a self care thing for me.

HavfrueDenizKisi · 15/07/2022 07:54

@AllThingsServeTheBeam you being rather pedantic here. You may smell? I'm not standing next to you. Can't tell from here. You may not. I'm not saying people with disabilities who can't shower daily are magically not grim.

Perhaps I'm not wording myself clearly. What I mean is, if people have no mobility issues, there really is no excuse for not showering daily I'm my opinion. I am sure those with disabilities have worked out schedules and systems for themselves that they are comfortable with.

But honestly if I had have said everyone should wash daily then you'd be at me for not considering people with disabilities. It's incredibly difficult to say anything on Mumsnet without someone taking offence. 🤷🏻‍♀️

erikbloodaxe · 15/07/2022 07:56

Once in 1968 shortly after exiting the birth canal. Once in 1977 ( traumatic sharting experience) then before my wedding in 1997.

Next time will probably be during funeral preparations but tbh I really can't see the point in washing a dead body.

Nipplestoyou · 15/07/2022 07:57

Shower every morning and sometimes have a quick wash of my feet and bits before I got to bed if it's been very hot or my feet are dusty from wearing sandals.
I really don't like going without a daily shower. I would struggle at a festival!

coffeecupsandfairylights · 15/07/2022 07:57

I'm constantly in the shower. I have one over my head at all times otherwise I would just absolutely stink.

I mean, don't you all do that? 🙄

Surely you spend some part of your day looking for discarded shopping lists 😅

Letussee · 15/07/2022 08:28

Oh. I think I must bathe too much! Shower daily (unless I don’t go running) but I have a bath every evening. Best bit of the day :-)

Fizbosshoes · 15/07/2022 08:28

I've never really discussed bathing or showering habits outside family.
I remember as a kid my mum wanted my dad to bath more often (I don't remember him smelling - maybe we all did...?Confused) and now as a parent I have to insist/cajole/encourage 12 year old DS to shower regularly....but its not a topic that comes up in conversation outside the house, generally.

StarlightLady · 15/07/2022 08:31

I shower in the morning before work and have a shower or bath in the evening after work. When it is practical to do do, l prefer to shower before sex.
