My son got a first at RG Uni and has won a prize for his dissertation and top marks for his course!! As you can imagine I am absolutely bursting with pride but my cohort have had massive problems with their children generally! I just cannot share this news for a few weeks. It would be lovely to share this positive news 😘

Aw that's amazing! Well done OPs son, you have every right to be proud!

Mummyduckplusduckling · 14/07/2022 19:16

Well done your son and to you, I’m sure you’ve supported him so much for him to achieve that!

DanceItOut · 14/07/2022 19:17

That’s amazing! As someone who also got my uni results this week (as a mature student obviously) I can hand on heart say that this year’s graduating classes from all universities have had the worst time out of any other year groups for a long time. Covid affected our first year, second year and third year! It has been so hard. Obviously it’s been hard for me as a mature student who had my own kids to also educate while educating myself but I can wholeheartedly agree that even the younger kids from my course who had no other commitments really really struggled. it has been such a tough haul to get through it all despite everything and for some of them like your son to have come out of it with firsts and top grades is definitely something that should be celebrated from the rooftops. You have every right to be a super proud mama right now!

quiteathome · 14/07/2022 19:22

Congratulations to your son. I have also just graduated and I would say it has been so tough. Just getting through a degree has been hard. With the added complexity of Covid has just made it tougher.

Mercyovermerit · 14/07/2022 19:29

Very few things get me more excited than seeing children & young people doing so well. I’m very happy for you. Congratulations 👏

yphtutor · 14/07/2022 19:31

My son also got a distinction in his masters in clinical neuroscience despite his choice having to be changed 2 months into the degree. We never put it on any social media because I can’t stand that whole ‘look at me’ thing. We just celebrated it within the family and are so very proud of him, as long as he knows that, that is all that really matters. Well done to your son, enjoy his achievements.

paulhollywoodshairgel · 14/07/2022 19:35

What a wonderful achievement. You must all be very proud, and rightly so.

Enjoy your celebrations

custardlover · 14/07/2022 19:42

How very very lovely; congratulations!

VioletInsolence · 14/07/2022 19:44

Congratulations🙂🙂🙂. That’s wonderful news!!! Could I have a small brag too? My son has 4 A* predicted grades at A level….I told someone today and spent the next hour dying of embarrassment that I’d boasted😫😫😫.

Cheli83 · 14/07/2022 19:44

Congratulations to your son. It has definitely been an challenging time. He is amazing and you have every right to feel proud.

Justbefair · 14/07/2022 19:50

Amazing achievement and of course you want to shout it from the rooftops but feel inhibited by others. You are allowed to be happy and excited and tell people! When I was going through really tough times and friends had happy news I was still delighted for them and didn't think of it as rubbing it in. Also, when I achieved and was bursting with pride I told everyone. Everyone has their ups and downs, timings not always good, but that's life. Xx

whatislove123 · 14/07/2022 20:05

Congratulations!!

WombatChocolate · 14/07/2022 20:06

Congratulations to the whole family. It’s his achievement most of all but your all contributed and share in it in some way. I hope you have some grandparents or other relatives you can share your pride with, without fear of negatives. And I hope he’s allowed a short time of total showing off to you guys in the privacy of home.

Yes of course it’s not right to say too much if others are suffering or have had some failures…sensitivity it important, but those who’ve done well need their moment. I’m happy to think of the pleasure your family are enjoying. I hope this is just the start and lots more successes and happinesses are ahead for him.

Wam90 · 14/07/2022 20:07

That’s fantastic! You deserve to be so proud of him. I hope he is proud of himself too 🥳

Easilystartled · 14/07/2022 20:07

That is an amazing achievement. Your son sounds like a wonderful boy and you sound like a wonderful mum. Congrats to you both xxx

ladygindiva · 14/07/2022 20:19

That's fantastic. Congratulations to you and your boy. Enjoy the graduation, I'm so glad I went to Dds though I ugly cried throughout as I was so emotional 🤣

Perky1 · 14/07/2022 20:21
