My son got a first at RG Uni and has won a prize for his dissertation and top marks for his course!! As you can imagine I am absolutely bursting with pride but my cohort have had massive problems with their children generally! I just cannot share this news for a few weeks. It would be lovely to share this positive news 😘

Aww congratulations to you @Imightbe and your dc. That’s amazing.

my dd1 also got a first…last year…when there was no fanfare or graduations or any way really to celebrate. Really sad.

Congratulations to your son, OP and happy times for you all. And well done on being a considerate friend, and not blurting it out when you think it might land badly for them. That's nice of you.

MuchuseasaChocolateTeapot · 13/07/2022 23:07

Great news. Have a fab celebration when he comes home!

Absolutely everything crossed for tomorrow…I have always drummed it into my children that it’s the effort that counts not the mark 💕💐

My child is not an a achiever atm, but I love to hear how his peers are doing. It's not bragging you are rightly proud of your child's achievements. TBH it saddens me when I don't get told about how they are doing, I've known loads of these kids from toddlers and before. Be proud!

Lovelystuff · 13/07/2022 23:14

Ah well done :)

bizzey · 13/07/2022 23:17

Ohh ...enjoy your special moment !
Yes , he got the first ,,and all those other things ...but this is your moment to shine as a mum xx

Not quite but many people believe that to be the case

It’s exactly what they are, whether people like it or not. Doesn’t mean other unis aren’t great, and a better choice for many, but RG still carries weight.

Hollywolly1 · 13/07/2022 23:22

Well donevto your son he seems like a wonderful boy that worked so hard and well and truly deserves thise grades, it's a brilliant feeling for you to because you obviously supported him through it all

How wonderful.

sarahtalkstoomuch · 13/07/2022 23:40

Well done him, that’s fantastic news. What are his plans once he’s back from Asia?

BeeAFreeBird · 13/07/2022 23:55

Amazing! Well done to him. You must be very proud. And what a warming post. All the best to him, and to you 😊

Imightbe · 13/07/2022 20:47

Thank you . I am absolutely bursting with pride …it hasn’t been easy for him and he has had a few issues with his general health!! He is traveling with his friends in Asia…all self funded by him ..he really is a fabulous human being and his siblings are so happy 😀

He sounds wonderful! Huge congratulations to him , what an achievement. My dd has struggled with a health issue, while also trying to do A levels, it is really hard so you are right to be so proud of your amazing boy. 🍾🥂🎶

Daydreamsinsantafe · 14/07/2022 00:01

Congratulations to him. That’s wonderful news and I would also be bursting at the seams with pride.
Im sure your friends would love to hear your news too. Don’t shy away from telling them.

Musti · 14/07/2022 00:27

Wonderful, well done to your son and you. I’m always happy to hear of friends kids doing well regardless of what is going on with my kids.

Mamanyt · 14/07/2022 00:33

Oh, VERY well done! I know that you are so proud of him!

yzed · 14/07/2022 00:53

Thanks for that Imightbe. It's always good to hear good news, whoever's it might be. And a huge WELL DONE to your son. Especially with so much of his time having been rather spoilt by covid and the various restrictions to life that that's caused. I'm so glad he's managed to take himself off travelling now.

And a big Well done to anyone else who's done well, plus GOOD LUCK to those awaiting results. It's a tough time for kids, exams of any kind. Those who've worked hard deserve their successes. And those in a tougher place at the moment deserve our sympathy. I hope things get better for your friends soon @Imightbe.

ReeseWitherfork · 14/07/2022 00:55

Congratulations to your son! And in the worst possible three years to be at uni too, I’m impressed with any kids who even make it, let alone with those credentials.

Mummyofmaniacs · 14/07/2022 01:18

Be proud! it makes it all worthwhile 😀

MummyMayo1988 · 14/07/2022 18:02

I think some members of our family thought my DH wouldn't do well at Uni because we had a baby.
He got a first and an amazing job after.
Proved them all wrong.
Soo happy for you and congratulations!

orangetriangle · 14/07/2022 18:08

that's fantastic well done to him. I know what you mean you are reluctant to say but you should be proud. On the other end of the scale my niece can read at 4 years 2 months and I am so proud of her I could burst!!!

Eukanuba · 14/07/2022 18:09

Wow ! That's a brilliant achievement. 👏 🥳
