Teenagers overdressing in the heat

Has anyone found any way to get a teenager to wear less on hot days? My 14-year-old DS is insisting on wearing his hoodie. He looks very hot, but keeps insisting he is not?

Or should I just ignore it, and take a photo of him to show future partners what he wore during a heatwave?

And is it only my son?

I know. I can't help feeling a bit sorry for the drug dealers round here at the moment. Not only are they all wearing black puffer jackets with the hoods up, they are also the only people still wearing face masks round here - in thick black fabric. It must be so uncomfortable.

DS14 hasn’t been out of his denim jacket and jeans. I keep telling him he’ll get rickets but he’s not bothered. Whatever, as long as he doesn’t stink my house out he can get on with it. He does wear a coat in winter though, mostly.

I saw numerous teens in hoodies AND puffs coats. It’s a gang thing…I don’t mean he’s in a gang but it’s the look

Mine are in Mountain Warehouse and outdoor type brand hoodies with mountain scenes and ' adventure' slogans. I'm not too worried about gangs, unless you count Scout explorers!

yep there’s one up by the station and he sticks out like a sore thumb at the moment!

My DS is the same. Joggers and a hoodie all year round whatever the weather!
