@BlackberrySky im just jealous that I still haven’t been, watched tennis all my life and done the ballot every time and yet kids are there before me! 😂

The ballot isn’t the only way in. Try the Wimbledon app next year.

Benjispruce4 · 11/07/2022 19:20

Oh I’d not heard of another way. Thanks, will do.

What abuse?

His behaviour on court was abusive to his family and to the umpire. The behaviour Was also disrespectful to the game, to the viewers, to his opponent. It was a excruciating display of toxic masculinity that made many people feel deeply upset.

AuntTwacky · 12/07/2022 01:16

Seemed like a nice guy at the end...

This is a thrilling final

I can't even imagine how annoyed I would be if some drunk person called out between my serves - when I'm playing in a grand slam against someone who's never beaten me

He's furious - and venting

But they're both playing incredible tennis

It could have been better without K's tantrums He uses them as a method of distracting his opponents and putting them off their game. Kyrgios should have studied his opponent who has nerves of steel.

Agree - and it’s why Kyrgios lost. He’s a great tennis player obviously, but unless he gets his temper and attitude under control he’ll never beat the best of the best. It’s a weakness and character flaw that needs a lot of work.

I really appreciate Djok as a player now. You can see that steel mind present. Fantastic composure

But I agree it’s not sporting to have a player like Kyrgios having outbursts. It’s unfair on the opponent

It's embarrassing

If you actually listen to what he's saying in interviews you'll see a more complex character. He gives a lot away and appears to me to be really insecure and unable to handle the pressure. He's just had an excellent payday. I hope he spends some of it on high level help.

bellac11 · 12/07/2022 19:14

Lots of people are insecure and have talent.

Everyone is complex (I hate this exceptionalism), we all have flaws, we all have important things to say and some of those might be good points.

If those flaws and that insecurity results in someone being abusive, controlling and bullying, then they're going to struggle not to be disciplined in their work and will need to learn new skills to manage themselves.

He shouldnt be lauded as some sort of flawed genius whose behaviour should be tolerated.
