Why isn’t he just kicked out 🙄?

He’s horrible.

I can’t understand why William and Kate have taken George there to see him swear his way through the match.

And making the poor child wear a suit in that heat too

If they left the Royal Box, it would create such a hoo-ha that I think they'll tough it out.

They can't have expected the language. I thought players could be penalised for it - though foreign players would of course get round that by using languages other than English

Of course they expected the language. He’s been doing it for a fortnight.

Not watching as we're out at the moment - are the commentators fawning over him and minimising his behaviour again?

Mimilamore · 10/07/2022 16:46

I quite like him...

HollyBollyBooBoo · 10/07/2022 16:47

YES @IglesiasPiggl that's exactly what they're doing. He's complex, honest and endearing apparently and no tournament director would be without him. FFS.

MarshaBradyo · 10/07/2022 16:49

His behaviour is abysmal and aggressive

I have no idea why commentators keep romanticising it

Oh lord, not again. Why, just why?

TheMushroom · 10/07/2022 16:51

If I was his girlfriend there in that box, I’d just get up and leave.

Retrievemysanity · 10/07/2022 16:53

There’s other threads about this and they make me uneasy because I think he is actually quite mentally unwell.

Are you on drugs?

For the first time, in years, we stopped watching the men's final.
Kyrgios annoyed us and we just couldn't care less who won but it became obvious.

It made me carry on watching, because I was so hoping he wouldn't win.

PoorNSS · 10/07/2022 17:19

I think wearing that red baseball cap court side is against the rules. Arsehole.

Me too.

JellyBellyNelly · 10/07/2022 17:27

I like him but he threw that match away.

Oblomov22 · 10/07/2022 17:27

His behaviour is often disgusting.
But today he had many valid points. the empire was awful so weak why didn't he tell the crowd to keep quiet more, why didn't he warn pissed woman that she would be escorted off the court if she didn't stop, he said nothing, as it was the woman was escorted off, that took time.

Kyrios didn't challenge a point that turned out to be out and he said to umpire, should've challenged it yourself it was right under your nose and the fact is that is very true. he needed to save those challenges because the game could've gone on for a lot longer, it didn't, but it could've and the umpire should have had the authority to challenge.

wellhelloitsme · 10/07/2022 18:01

I genuinely think he could have won that if he'd kept his composure.

That’s a major part of winning though having the mental strength to keep composed

So he’s lacking with that compared to Djok who is very composed

bellac11 · 10/07/2022 18:49

skippy67 · 10/07/2022 16:28

He's self harmed in the past, and had a mental breakdown in 2019.

It wouldnt surprise me due to his victim mentality, he thinks the world is against him and that when things go wrong (in the game) its someone elses fault. Huge propensity for people with those mindsets to suffer poor MH.

He urgently needs to reframe his outlook and take responsibility and ownership for his feelings and actions.

OnaBegonia · 10/07/2022 19:04

He doesn't have a coach, which does go some way to keeping them in check. Horrible bullying man.

Topseyt123 · 10/07/2022 19:16

I don't know much about his mental state, but he behaved like a yob.

In some ways he greatly reminded me of the young John McEnroe, who swore and ranted his way around many of the world class tennis tournaments.. That isn't intended to be a compliment.

Mcenroe didnt bully his opponents and didnt shout and swear into the crowd or at his trainer/box

Bluevelvetsofa · 10/07/2022 19:55

I think he’s a rabid bully and a deeply flawed and unpleasant individual.

I fail to understand why commentators are remotely positive about him and I think it brings the game into disrepute. The final was a joke, with two players who shouldn’t have been there.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 10/07/2022 19:59

RoseAndRose · 10/07/2022 16:20

John McEnroe was once disqualified from a tournament because of conduct. It's rarely used, perhaps it should be more often.

Kyrious is much worse than Macenroe was! He was explosive outbursts this was constant.

A woman was shouting out so why didn't he talk to the umpire in a professional manner and just refuse to play until the woman was removed? His behaviour was appalling.
