Did anyone see Ken Clarke on Newsnight last night? He spoke such good sense. Huge contrast with the rabid, ultra-right, intellectual pigmies of the current Tory government.

Yes I watched. It was a good interview with space for Clarke to articulate his views. It was enjoyable to listen to calm thoughts rather than the steady populist over emotional drivel pumped out by the candidates at the moment.

They just want/expect to be nodded through without answering those kind of questions.

Rigby's questions, whilst direct, should have been anticipated and thoughtful answers rehearsed.

They (all the candidates I've seen so far) just don't seem to have anything in the tank beyond talking up wedge politics and giving the "unite the country" flannel without ever saying how they would achieve that.

I hope they've got more detail & policies to come because otherwise it just looks like flimflam in expensive suits to me.

Seeing JRM and Dorries spouting off outside No.10 was nauseating, I thought it was a Little Britain sketch to be honest. The two of them need to be gone for good.

It was a real going for the jugular moment, I think he was in shock and the link going down was a shame. I wonder if that is available anywhere.
